Good store and good staff. Logan checked me and my wife out however and Logan began asking some strange questions, they prompted that another female coworker said he looks like he would “skin a furry”. I just did not expect this sort of talk from a checker.

Have been Safeway shopper for over 40 yrs. The prices are out of control high. $8 for average loaf of bread..other prices are higher than Hawaii!! We shop at trader Joe's now. Great prices, friendly staff, don't have to show ID for alcohol. Can't wait for costco across the street

TLDR
I do not appreciate being slandered in front of the entire store by Ian G. for simply asking for basic customer service, at the customer service desk. He created a hostile environment that made me very uncomfortable.
I patron the store (almost) every single day to buy a 2 pack of chocolate chip cookies, along with a full meal.
I walked up to the customer service desk with an 8-pack of chocolate chip cookies priced at $5.
When I approached, 3-4 employees were standing around laughing and talking behind the counter, including a night shift supervisor named Ian G.
I politely asked Ian for the 8-pack of cookies to be split into 2-packs so that I can buy a 2-pack of cookies.
*When the cookies are split into 4 x 2 packs, they're priced at $2.49 each, which totals $9.96 (nearly double the price).
I know I'm paying double the price, yet I never ask for a discount or anything free - despite spending additional time in the store to get the 2 pack of cookies prepared when they haven't been made by the bakery department.
Ian began acting rude and hostile almost immediately after I approached the customer service desk, as he had seen me shopping in the store many times and is aware that I request the cookies often.
He refused to package the cookies and said that he doesn't have time for that.
I let him know that splitting up the cookies has been authorized by the store director, and I pointed out that he had just been standing there, chatting with employees.
The other employees immediately dispersed and 'got busy'.
He then, clearly frustrated, claimed that splitting up the cookies will mess up the whole system and that I'm harassing his employees every day to buy these cookies, so "I'm not doing it" - he said.
I politely reminded him that the store director authorized the cookies to be split up when the 2 pack of cookies are not available.
He raised his voice and said he doesn't care, the store director never told him, so he's not doing it.
I asked why he's acting hostile while I'm simply asking for service at the customer service desk.
He then continued raising his voice, stating that I come in every day harassing his employees and pissing people off.
I reminded him that I'm simply a customer who wants to buy cookies every day, and that shopping at the store frequently is not harassment.
I never raised my voice or said anything inappropriate (no 'harassment' as he claimed).
I told Ian G. that I felt very uncomfortable at how hostile he was getting, and I asked again why he's continuing to act that way.
He continued to raise his voice until he was almost yelling at me - he berated and slandered me in front of the entire store.
Then he finished his rant by saying, "So enjoy your $5 cookies", smirking at his remark as he waved me away from the customer service counter.
As I was leaving, I looked back and saw him shaking his head and making disturbing faces as he gossiped with other employees about his hostile encounter with me.
The entire time I kept my composure and simply asked for basic customer service, like any normal customer would.
I was not acting out of line when I simply asked for cookies to be split up - the store director already approved it, and frankly, it's not hard to do.
Slandering and berating customers is never acceptable. And repeat customers are not 'harassing' employees when they patron the store to buy products frequently.
Please correct this issue and make the night supervisors aware of the arrangement with the cookies.
Please promise me that the employees at this Safeway location will

Decent Safeway. Inventory is pretty much stocked regularly. Hardly ever find expired products here, unlike other stores. Nice, friendly staff.

I would rather they increase the prices a little instead of reducing the number of employees. Too many empty spaces on the shelves, and too few employees to help get at the products on the higher shelves.

With the exception of one or two people-they are rude and incompetent! The guy in the meat counter is an idiot. He really knows nothing. The 'Service' counter is worse. If you have a problem-then You have the problem. I don't care what sale they have -Walley World is a shining example of perfection compared to these losers!
