Just discovered Roth’s while working in the area to prep for the upcoming fire season and truly blown away by the quality, care and kindness of the folks here. This is how grocery stores are supposed to be. Grateful to their team members for providing good, affordable options for their community and those of us passing through to protect the area.

12/28 10:30 am Employees in bakery were SO friendly and helpful, I was expecting the rest of the staff to follow suit. Was I ever wrong...staff at the coffee counter, 5 of them, seemed to think I was invisible. All coffee pots were empty. After waiting at the counter for 10 mins I walked over to deli to ask for help, "Ring the bell." Went back to counter, NO bell. Finally deli woman came and started a new pot. We sat down to wait, 15 mins later we got up and left.

Everything is outrageously overpriced and expired. Check out lines take forever. I really can’t stand the people who shop there. They honestly just make the shopping experience even worse.

Happy New Year but not at Silverton Roths. Went today to buy a big roast and trimmings for a New Years football game dinner. Prepared to spend a lot of money. Had my 11 week old corgi puppy with me. I put her in the cart on my coat. She is clean and learning to socialize to be a therapy dog for hospitalized patients. Other patrons in store made positive comments. Nothing is posted that says animals not allowed.
When I asked the employee at the meat counter about roasts, he did not answer me. I asked him again, and he became angry and told me that I couldn't have a dog in the store unless it's a service dog on a lease. That "it's gross you have put a dog in a cart. People put their food in those carts." I asked if there was a rule about dogs and he said he didn't know, but it's "gross you put a dog in a cart" . I felt attacked and humiliated.I have seen others bring dogs into stores and I would not have willingly broken any laws if I had known it's not allowed.
I have shopped at this store for nearly 30 years and have never encountered a rude employee. I guess customer service and kindness are no longer part of Roths standards. All the employee needed to do was kindly inform me that animals are not allowed in food stores in Oregon unless they are officially licensed service animals. I would have gladly have returned my puppy to her crate in the car. Assuming good intent is a foundation for good customer service.

Starbucks K-cups on 10/31/24, Roth’s $12.99, VS Safeway $6.99. That folks is a $6.00 price difference for the very same item! They are within a mile from each other. With today’s inflation this is ridiculous. Compare prices and shop elsewhere.

My favorite grocery store in Silverton. They have better meat options than Safeway.

Stopped being the #1 place for doughnuts why on earth would you stop making raspberry fritters?? Orville would fire all of you for letting this once iconic store fall into such disarray.
