I had a terrible experience at Salon M. I am a preschool teacher and despite my certificate I earn barely over minimum wage. So the cost of getting my hair done once a year or so is a huge expense from my budget. Additionally my hair is very thin and grows very slowly so I am very careful with who I trust to help me in trying to look my best.
If I had know how little Meriah cares for her customers or their happiness and satisfaction at the end of a trip to the salon I never would have gone there.
Before she had even finished styling it, she was already making excuses for why it looks so bad and for why the blonde highlights were standing out from the dark roots so drastically. It was the first thing I noticed and certainly the first thing my partner noticed and yet Meriah offered no solutions or remedies except to maybe “come back in a few weeks to see if we can fix it up a bit better”. No discount, no genuine solutions or even a genuine apology for your trouble. And the best part is that the repair cost for a full color application to undo what she left me with is out of my reach financially right now even if I could find a place that would agree to take on my new hair situation.
So My advice to you after all of this?
Save you money and go to a real salon in Portland that will take you seriously and not shrug and leave you with the kind of miserable lasting terrible hair experience that I have now been left with for several months.
Believe me, It’s not worth the tears.

Recently had Madeline do a hair cut and color. It was my first time seeing her, and she did exactly what I wanted! She is very knowledgeable and took the time the talk with me about what I wanted. I love my hair and have received so many compliments. She came highly recommended, and I see why!

I sadly lost a friend after they had their hair done here as they were so ashamed and embarrassed that they isolated themselves and cut contact with me. Apparently their haircut was completely different from what they originally asked for. I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen again, as I wouldn’t wish that fate upon anyone.

I am a new resident to Silverton and was lucky enough to discover Salon M and Madeline! The salon is relaxing and welcoming, and Madeline works magic with her cut, color (highlights and lowlights), and styling techniques! She listens to what I want, and also offers suggestions as to what will work and look best for my hair! She is friendly, professional and clearly takes pride in her work! Terrible customer service! Called to see what nail services they offered, but person that answered the call was FAR too busy to take an appt. Too bad, cuz we're new to the area and need new providers. Oh well! I'll find services with a salon that WANTS the business!
