I had a frustrating experience with this clinic. I'd brought my dog in with a growth on each eye. Dr. Maxwell said "Yeah, we can get those" (somewhat dismissively, I remember thinking at the time). Later, her assistant Elise (who wasn't in the room) sent me a quote, which said "Lid mass excision x2" so I assumed it was the two that I'd pointed out in the exam. I reminded Elise twice before the surgery that both eyes had a growth that needed removed. When I picked my dog up, I was shocked to discover the one obvious growth remained. The doctor was too busy to talk to me herself, but relayed that she wasn't concerned about the growth as it was cosmetic. Later, the office manager Gina claimed Dr. Maxwell didn't remove the growth because it needed consulting with a dermatologist and a biopsy to rule out cancer. Which, if true, should've discussed with me before I committed to the surgery. Some positives: The surgery to remove the larger mass was successful. My dog was in good spirits after the surgery and had an easy recovery. Elise was patient and understanding, explaining OVRA's side of the situation ("miscommunication") in a calm manner and offering a sympathetic ear while I expressed my frustration. The bottom line is that Dr. Maxwell could've saved us having to start all over with another specialist and a second surgery (again putting my dog under anesthesia) merely by communicating clearly in the initial exam (which alone cost $120). I received a partial refund of the surgery based on what OVRA's records show that I paid, although my credit card statement shows that I'd paid $50 over that amount. So if clear communication and attention to detail are important to you, based on my experience I wouldn't recommend OVRA.

Great vet with expertise, knowledge, compassion for animals as well as their owners. Great honesty! We won't go anywhere else for his specialty of care.

Um- I know I've left a review but I'll do it again because Dr. Nibblet saved my cats life and I'm grateful everyday. After going to FOUR vets over 2 years trying everything and spending loads of money to understand why our cats had chronic diarrhea and vomiting- DR Nibblet diagnosed our cat, got her on meds & she's been doing great. If your animal is ailing - do not spend hundreds of dollars on supplements and food. Do not go to an "animal psychic" or "animal chiropractors" Come here. Stat. Honorable mention to the Third vet (eugene mobile vet- highly recommended) who referred us hers. they tried several things and then said- I'm referring you to specialist- call OVRA. Bonus points for the new very nice faculty beverage station. Yeah- this place is pricey, but all vets are & at least these folks will save your animal.

I brought my BC/DoxyX in for an eye injury quite some time ago. We saw Dr. Sarah Maxwell. She helped us manage her care for a long time until we decided to have her eye removed because the lens kept slipping especially after chasing the ball, & when that happens it is very painful. They are so freaking awesome. She just had her stitches out today & I'm only sad I won't get to see the Doc anymore. They are compassionate, well trained, efficient friendly & I just love them. They get a all the s review from me.
