Very poor customer service. We drove an hour to look at a truck and he was rude and told us that we couldn't test drive at that moment because he had another customer coming and he didn't have time for us. We said we would be back and when we returned within business hours, he was not there. Open signs were on and sign said be right back with a number to call him. We called and text his number and my phone showed me that he read the messages, but he ignored them and never responded. Just left us standing in his lot waiting for no response.

After reading the reviews, I was very hesitant to go look at a car here. But it was the car I’ve been waiting to pop up on the marketplace for months, a 2000’s Buick with low mileage for a fair price. Was going into it expecting the car to not be in as good of shape as it seemed. But Howard let me test ride it and bring it to a shop for a pre paid purchase inspection and everything was in good enough running order for me to buy. He was never rude to me and there was mutual respect between the two of us throughout the ordeal. He sold me the car at a fair price which was below his asking price and the whole experience was positive for me. I can’t speak for the all the other reviews but what I will say is treat him and his cars with respect and he’ll treat you with respect.

Michael bought a car from Howards Auto in Glenwood, Oregon, and it drove for 2 weeks under 300 miles and died... He paid over 3000 for this ...machine. Something to consider IF you do business with Howards Auto in Glenwood Oregon. This is not an honest business. They will not tell the truth when it comes to damage on a vehicle. They lied about this vehicle being in an accident. Buyers beware with this smiling liar.

My partner and I purchased a 2004 Honda CR-V earlier this year that we we're assured had the front end damage repaired and that everything was running good, including the air conditioner. We've had nothing but problems since we left the dealership lot. A check engine light came on within 60 miles which has led to us spending over $400 on two separate occassions to replace the water pump, thermostat, temperature sensor, and the radiator overflow reservoir. Today we found out the air conditioning isn't even hooked up and the front end was never actually repaired. The radiator and other components were just stuffed into the bent frame so that it would start up. We've now been told we have to take the car to a body shop to have the front end frame worked on so the components are in their right locations to be connected. Currently the radiator and cooling system is only connected on one side of the front end. Buyers beware with this smiling liar.

My wife and I drove 3 hours to check out a minivan that Mr. Howard had for sale. He pointed out the flaws and told us that it has a salvage title. We easily came to terms with the price. He gave us a very fair price for our Rodeo. We drove 3 hours home very happy with our purchase and our interaction with Mr. Howard. I would buy from him again. In fact, i gave him my wish list for a truck that i hope he can find. In 45 years of buying vehicles this has been a most pleasant experience.

I bought a car from Howard in August. Marketed as a great reliable car with perfect ac and no issues. What he didn’t tell me was the ac was leaking and stopped working two days later, and that there are DOZENS of issues with the car. It hasn’t had an oil change in over a YEAR. It was listed at 3200, when I offered 3, he accepted. When I got there to pay cash I told him I had 3 and he looked at me like I was scamming HIM! There were people making comments in the back about a car they “took”, which was super unprofessional. Howard treated my roommates and I like we didn’t know anything (one of my roommates is extremely knowledgeable about cars and came to help) and was very rude when we asked to test drive. I was really uncomfortable the whole time and rushed to get things over with. I went in to sign the paperwork and noticed a confederate flag posted on the wall. In the moment I started to hesitate and he started rushing me more and more. I signed and paid cash, and he sent me out. When I tried to message him through Facebook (where we initially spoke) I told him about a few of the issues knowing other people I know have been able to get these things fixed (anything not mentioned). He told me to go have someone fix it, or that he had a guy who could do it “cheaper”. I told him it was dishonest to sell me a car with so many problems and market it as great and he blocked me from messaging him. Not how I wanted buying my first car to go. If any of my friends mention buying a car in the future I will tell them to stay away from this place.

I've bought 2 cars from Howard over the past 4 years, not one problem. Onlyoney I put into them was oil changes and regular maintenance. I'm scared buying from someone I don't know, but ipon my first visit I was put at ease. Thanks for your great cars ðŸ‘

This is the worst dealership ive ever been to, they lied on the add about my vehicle being 4wd its actually 2wd and the engine is now falling apart when they said it was driving sound. I saw two mechanics as well and both said good things about this place and the condition of the car and how howard is a good guy... buth they are all friends... dont go to two guys either!

I haven't bought from this place but I had an experience where the owner was extremely rude to me. A few years ago when I was coming home on the bus, I was carrying a lot of plastic grocery bags with groceries in it. A few of them started to rip and my groceries started to fall out. I have very severe anxiety and I was panicking while on the phone with the taxi service to tell them where I was, and in my panic I had a giant brain fart and didn't notice the address was on the sign of Howard's. Howard was closing up shop for the day and so I asked him in my panic if I could get the address for his business. He scoffed at me and very rudely told me to look at the sign, and then he walked off. I couldn't get out of there any quicker.
