I have been using Fresh Pass for year with the saint helens safeway store and many many many times my order is late getting to me. Not just a few minutes but hours. I have not been offered compensation for the tardiness and the problem doesn't stop there. When I place my order, it adds on a tip for the driver.when my order is late, I dont want to tip anyone! A month ago, I placed sn order at 3pm. it was supposed to be delivered between 7 and 8. It was not. when At 930pm it hadnt been shopped for or obviously delivered, I called safeway to postpone for pickup until the following day because I dont want to put groceries away that late or wait for them. The store assured me it was postponed and I could pick up the following day. at 1045 I see headlights pull in my driveway and I get a call from doordash stating they can 'see my lights are on and can i come get my groceries'. i refused the order because i am not putting groceries away at 11pm. I go to the store the next morning and my order is not there. Justin Best did not offer any compensation and while in that moment offered to go shop my groceries and drliver them himself,no real offer was made to make it right. You dont offer a way to cancel or postpone said order so I have to call the store. now it happened AGAIN on sunday and they were supposed to pause my order but not pull it until monday and i would pick up. It was not. my order was cancelled. I still got charged $300. my money is not in my account. no groceries were pulled this time. I was told to go come back the next morning if my money still wasnt in my account. I went back Tuesday because it's still not. I was told that was standard for a cancelled order. I didnt cancel it and I dont have my groceries. Justin Best again offers nothing but a snarky apology. Worst manager I have ever dealt with. We have had to cancel our vacation because of this and I am absolutely done with Safeway. Do better Safeway. People rely on this service when they are sick or elderly or have mental illness and cant leave their house and I pay $99 a year for it. This is ridiculous. Give me my money back. I'd rather drive 25 miles to Winco than to deal with this ridiculousness anymore. I get paid $24 and hour and I've dealt with this for approximately 4 hours on this issue alone. I'd like to be compensated for my time and inconvenience this has caused me and my family. The wait times in the store in line are absurd. This store is too small for this community and it's not even staffed properly. I am absolutelt done with the District Manager and their lack of caring here.

Store almost always has what I'm looking for. Handicap access ramp and parking spots have been recently updated. Store is always clean but I wish they would have more tellers. Standing 5 people back when the store is slow is ridiculous

It's an older location. So unfortunately the isles are incredibly narrow. But I have to say they always have better produce than Fred Meyer and overall it's a great store with decent selection and deals. I can do without the cashier's paying so much attention to friends and family that enter the store. But others may find that welcoming with a sense of community. Not me though.

**updated review**
Grocery pickup service is on point here. Occasionally, there is a bit of a wait. There is now an option to accept or reject substitutions.

Added stars for great employees, cheerfully manning the checkstands on Christmas eve while everyone in town (including me) decided to brave the icy roads to get their last minute groceries.

I had a rather enjoyable shopping trip today. Reminder to clip in app coupons before you go to the store! Cheers!

Do not use Safeway delivery. Literally every order has some off the wall substitution that doesn't make sense. I'll go back to clicklist at Scapp Freddie's, they give you a heads up on the substituted items and a choice whether to accept them or not.

Not a lot of choices in St Helens for groceries. Prices are high as would be expected with the lack of competition. Most employees are friendly, smiling and greeting customers. Other employees were definitely avoiding customer interaction. I found what I needed and then some.

safeway in st helens is small, but that's okay... the employees are always pleasant. the environment is good and pretty much clean. they offer organic items which is important to me. O organics is a brand i prefer for many items. they carry grass-fed beef and grass-fed milk which is delicious. the deli is pretty good and there is a starbucks if you want some coffee. they have lots of specialty cheeses and homemade breads. overall, shopping at safeway is a good experience. it's a small town and can't expect much more size wise... i do appreciate this store as is.

Employee was weirdly accusatory when asked if there was a bathroom. I guess they’ve had people come in to use illicit substances but it’s no reason to act like every patron is doing that and not just needing to use the restroom. Left a bad taste in my mouth, I don’t like being treated like a criminal by grocery store employees, this isn’t an interrogation, it’s a Safeway, and I have to pee, so a simple yes or no will suffice.

GREAT STAFF: Parked near a shopping cart return as they were collecting. They offered & brought over a small cart before they even knew I use a cane...no handicap sticker. In the store it was the same way. Everyone willing to assist!
CLEAN & WELL STOCKED: This store had everything on my shopping list, and all areas were well kept.
PRICES: As marked & and displayed below the item if I needed to use a digital coupon. I shop in Safeway (and other stores) often enough to know that these sales are good deals. Also, if you use the 'Club Card', a great hep on gas prices!
Hope this helps others.

Today I was helped by the deli staff who were very nice and helpful. After that the lady in the self-checkout was very patient with me as I messed up my payment method. Then I went and got a drink at the Starbucks inside, and the staff were so friendly and polite. To top it off the manager and a couple other employees from Safeway helped bring my catering order to my car. Great customer service! I will definitely come back here again for my needs! THANK YOU !!

This store was very helpful trying to find stuff and the employees were very helpful. I just wish this store was bigger. We need a bigger store.

Service is excellent, the people are nice, the fresh food is always fresh. The store is clean and well organized, and they are surprised when you're there to pick up your own food ?

We're 1/2 on pickup here for good experience.
You just have to schedule your pickup well in advance of the time you actually want to be there.
