Sumpter Bed & Breakfast is a historic, cozy, and charming place. The building is a former Victorian hospital, rustic and adorable with high ceilings. It is clean, very comfortable, and has a great energy, even noted as haunted. The owners are awesome, friendly, kind, gracious, and accommodating, making guests feel welcome. They serve an excellent and delicious breakfast, including huckleberry pancakes. Noteworthy details include displayed surgical tools from the doctor who worked in the building in the early 1900s, adding to the historical accuracy. The B&B offers board games for entertainment. It is not far from downtown Sumpter. Nearby activities include the Sumpter Dredge, Cracker Creek Mining Museum, the Sumpter Valley Railway, motorcycle trails, a nearby creek, and the John Day Fossil beds. Guests describe their stay as absolutely wonderful and delightful, often stating they would return in a heartbeat.

1st stop on an 11 day road trip to yellowstone/teton. Great rooms, fun decor, really good pancakes made fresh by the owners. Wish we could have had a spooky encounter from the ethereal guests that still live here, but we slept too good to notice anything! Went with 4 kids and they also really liked the place.

Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts/owners. Very clean and comfortable, might of heard some paranormal activity.

Love this little bed and breakfast. My husband was there working on the roads and its a nice place. The owners are super nice and helpful
