I attempted to resolve this issue directly with Matt, but unfortunately, the decision prioritized financial convenience over fairness. I feel a responsibility to warn fellow carriers about Saffer’s practices. They engaged in price gouging on deductions and placed full liability on us, the carrier, for a shipment error that should have been shared with the shipper. While our driver did overlook a pallet, the shipper was equally negligent, yet not held accountable. The broker, who included liability terms in the rate confirmation but failed to follow up during transit, admitted on a recorded call that the missing piece was recovered at a cost of $1,500—yet we were charged $1,300 and the shipper only $300, indicating a profit was made from the incident. This approach is unethical and deeply disappointing.

We got a load from the broker named Scott from california to Florida. There was a missing part the shipper forgot to load and driver to check as well. And they decided to deduct $1300 out of $3000 going coast to coast. So unfair and unprofessional with the deduction. And he also lied about driver talking to him in disrespectful way, which he didn’t called or talked to the driver.
