Brenda Derryberry filed three years of my clients tax returns erroneously. She didn't ask for the company's entity filing, which, if she would have done her due diligence, she would have seen that it was a partnership. Instead she filed a schedule C, so when the wife tried to get a loan for a new business she was opening she was denied because her tax returns were filed incorrectly. When Brenda was told, she stopped answering emails and phone calls. The taxpayers had to hire a different preparer to amend three years of federal and state returns. This cost the taxpayers over $13,000, which Brenda refused to reimburse them. She also neglected to file two quarters of payroll returns and misposted vehicle loan payments as expenses instead of payments towards the loans. She was negligent in onboarding her new tax clients and doesn't appear to have a proper grasp of accounting.
