Update: They were supposed to give us a discount on the bill because of the dirty room and issues, but they ended up charging the credit card around $250 when the room rate was only supposed to be $126+ tax. Still waiting to see if that is resolved...
We stayed at Cousins Country Inn a few years ago and loved it, which is why we decided to come back. Unfortunately, this stay has been a major disappointment. I’m writing this review from our room because I’m so displeased.
This time we were placed in the far back building, and the difference in quality between our previous room and this one is shocking. The room smelled strange when we walked in, and the old, loud AC unit runs constantly, making it hard to relax or sleep. As the night went on, I started noticing more and more signs that the room was just not clean. The floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all, the carpet was heavily stained and turned my kids’ feet black from walking on it, and there was visible dirt on the bathroom door. There was hair in the tub and a nearly used-up roll of toilet paper left on the holder. There is mold all over the shower wall and even a hole in the shower!
The most disgusting part was the ice bucket liner — it had something on it that resembled either a mouse dropping or insect larva. I ended up using my own zip-top bags just to get ice because I didn’t trust it.
The restaurant was just as bad. The food served to my kids was inedible, and we had to ask for part of it to be taken off the bill. No offer was made to replace any of it — including the tough, stringy asparagus that was a serious choking hazard for my toddler. I felt sick after eating my own meal and honestly wish we had eaten somewhere else.
Thankfully, we’re only here for one night. Unfortunately, this visit has completely changed my opinion of this place, and we won’t be returning.

Food & drinks: Restaurant that is part of the Inn is a great place to eat. We had breakfast and dinner and portions are big and delicious.

My husband is a trucker and stops here when he is OTR. We just stayed there last night with my Dad . The rooms are very nice and the restaurant has good food. ?

I didn't stay at the hotel I ate at the restaurant and drinking the lounge cozy the bartenders were awesome before a decent drink I can't complain so you know prices were good I'll go back if ever in The DallesFood & drinks: They're homemade biscuits awesome they are so filling I would recommend
