I have quite the dilemma. This is a small, rural town without many options. That being said, I've noticed that the local Chef's Store is woefully under-stocked, lacks satisfactory customer service (except for a couple employees like Mali, Albert and Josh) and doesn't seem to care about the safety of their customers. I've noticed that, unless there's a corporate visit expected, the place is an absolute mess. On more than one occasion, I have experienced or seen other customers, almost slip and fall in the freezer (see attached photos). It is too difficult to carry the boxes out of the freezer, let alone navigate an obstacle course of debris, icy floors and pallets that are just put willy-nilly. Every occasion that I absolutely have to shop there due to limited choices in this town, I have observed a few select employees that do little to no work, especially freight and helping customers, on a regular basis. The attached pictures are a one day example of the state their freezer is usually in. I refuse to get hurt, which has almost happened on almost every visit I've been there, because of employee laziness. I'm hoping this review gets the notice of the store and these issues can be rectified.

We wanted to give a shout out to Keith and the staff members at The Dalles,Oregon store.They go out of their way to help us and have been so very responsive to let us know when the items we usually order may be delayed in shipping enough in advance for us to find other sources. Thank you so much for making our lives a little easier!

They have some deals, but many food items are in large quantities. Also have a large variety of kitchen tools and knifes.

We ordered a luau pig two weeks in advance to make sure it arrived in time. No communication from the store manager to let us know that it did not arrive.
I have 150 people to feed on Saturday and no pig.
The store manager was not helpful in any way to remedy the problem.
