This post office honestly had the worst workers. In the store and people delivering. People in the store are rude as hell and one of them women at the desk will literally stop what she is doing just to go on her phone in the middle of your trying to conduct a transaction. Why do they let this behavior go on?? Like what the hell? Also I live in a building that you need a key card for access and I know for a FACT that usps has multiple of those cards. Yet they always will put that they couldn’t deliver because the lobby was locked. Like honestly it’s just comical at this point. This place a is a joke and so are almost all of the workers.

Of i could id leave no stars. I went in yesterday about getting my passport and was told that they only do passports 9:30-3:30 and I’d have to make an appointment which is fine, reasonable. So i do and i go in today wait in the line thats almost has people waiting outside just to find out that not only was my appointment not finalized and another had booked my spot. After being informed to wait in the passport lane (as directed by an employee) another employee came from the back and with the rudest tone said walk ins are only 7-8:30 and after 3 (which contradicts what i was told yesterday which leads me to believe the staff i was helped by was lazy and didnt want to do their job) ive been to multiple states and have visited many post offices and this one was run the worst by far the rudest employees I’ve experienced. The only rude people ive come into contact with in the Dalles.

Received a nice metal sign. Someone BENT IN IN HALF to get it in a small PO box. Cannot repair crease from the bend. Also stuff things in the box to large, so have to ask at the desk for them to retrieve it from the back. These employees need a lot of training.

Passports: Let’s begin. I arrived five minutes early for my passport renewal appointment, scheduled for 10:15. The woman at the front desk informed me that the passport officer would call my name when she was ready. After 20 minutes, someone finally asked why I was standing by the window. I replied, “I have a passport appointment—I’m waiting for the officer.” She responded, “Oh, why didn’t you say anything?” I answered, “I did; I checked in for my appointment 20 minutes ago,” even though she had been silently staring at me the whole time.
Then, just as she was about to take my payment, she informed me that I was renewing my passport—not applying for a new one—and that my paperwork was incorrect. I needed to fill out different forms. Meanwhile, a family of seven was waiting in line ahead of me. It’s been over an hour now, and I’m still waiting. This experience is a prime example of why I worry that USPS may not survive into the 21st century.

We were supposed to get mail picked up from our business in The Dalles last week. The carrier dropped off our mail in the mailbox, and had at least 10 envelopes to pickup. He apparently dropped some and proceeded to just run over what was dropped on the ground. This along with going days in between getting mail seems a little crazy for a business. I wish the service would step up.
Update - Apparently the USPS is contracting through a 3rd party for our route, as they cannot find an employee to run this route. I spoke with a very nice young man on the phone who informed me of this, as the mail was dropped again today on the ground and ran over AGAIN! 5 stars for the guy from the post office. 1 star for the 3rd party company.

ATTENTION!!! If you need a USPS packaged dropped off, GO TO STAPLES INSTEAD!!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING THERE FOR GENERAL QUESTIONS OR HELP!!! The USPS in The Dalles is very unwelcoming with service that doesn’t want to help. I asked general questions and was understanding in things they couldn’t do. But they were just annoyed with my presence there to ask them general questions that I couldn’t find the answers too online. Then they gave me remarks that I was wasting their time and didn’t feel welcome. Any simple request and they shrugged and made you feel like your an nuisance being there. Went to Staples in The Dalles to print out the Shipping Label (which like I mentioned, was understanding that I couldn’t do at the USPS store), and they were way more helpful and understanding of my situation and was able to get me in and out simpler and quickly. They were able to accept my package, free of charge, and gladly made sure that I was all taken care of.
USPS store in The Dalles need better training in there staff and customer service or just other workers that a present themselves as more eager to help customers rather then the old ladies that are working there that don’t seem like they are enjoying being there.

I came from Hood River to get my passport done and made an appointment. When I showed up she denied me service even after waiting in line. I took off work to come in here today and am heavily dissatisfied with the customer service in this establishment. Don’t come here unless you wait a long wait time and may even be denied service as well!

Won't deliver heavy packages. They just mark them as undeliverable because of access. But I have no neighbors or dogs or anything that would prevent them from delivering. I have ring doorbell footage of them pulling up. Going to the back of their truck and then just leaving. What they didn't deliver was needed for my business. USPS needs to be abolished.

I was walking on 11th and liberty in the dalles and one of your drivers rolled right through the stop sign almost hitting me. I feel as if that was very unethical. Yes they have places to be but that does NOT mean that they can disobey the traffic laws and put people in danger!

Heard a loud thud on my porch, went out to see what happened and the usps guy had literally thrown my package from his truck and soed away. He damaged several items and I am very disappointed.

Gosh, the lady who helped me with my Passport was unfriendly at first. Not very welcoming and authoritative. Ouch! Thankfully she lightened up at the end. The lady at the counter was quite busy but very pleasant.

The worst experience I’ve ever had with a shipping carrier. Lazy drivers, lazy workers inside, and no work ethic from anyone in the entire post office. You can show up before they even open and they’ll refuse to give you your package then will proceed to not deliver said package. Needs new management and new employees, it’s embarrassing.
