I learn from my father a very important thing; "People make the place". It is true. I never had issues with mail pieces of parcels until I moved in Tidewaters 4 months ago. In this short time I had 2 parcels lost and not recovered. This antiquated Rural Customer Delivery System delivers to a mailbox 300 yards from my home instead of delivering to my actual location. Our road has no asphalt, however, is well maintained and I see no reason why the carrier is not delivering to our home. UPS and FedEx delivers to our location impeccably. Local postmaster implements faulty processes so when the carrier brings a package to the mailbox but is not leaving it into the mailbox it still records into USPS system as delivered to the mailbox. When I moved to Tidewater I set my account information and options on my USPS account. Waldport postmaster told me that whatever I set on my USPS account has no meaning at all!!!!! So I keep filling these Rural Customer Delivery Instructions forms. The latest one I filled in has no options available for keeping all parcels to the post office. I do not trust the carrier and I do not want any package to be sent from the post office because the service is totally unreliable. Walport postmaster promised to implement the option to keep all parcels to Tidewater post office where I will pick it up. Then, if you move into our rural area I recommend to opt for picking up your USPS parcels at the post office. Good luck!
