I shopped at this place for years and truly was a loyal customer. I quit growing for a while and didn’t venture out much. I recently started some plants and headed out on Saturday afternoon to pick up some nutes for the girls. I pulled up to the store at 1600 hours and it was closed . A gentleman sitting on a bench in front of the store told me that I was the 4th or 5th customer to pull up in the last 20 minutes. Who runs a store like that? Monday through Friday 1000 to 1800 hours or 10:00am to 06:00pm? For a retail business catering to customers, some that work during the week , that’s just stupid.

Just had the best experience at GrowGeneration! So kind, helpful, and knowledgeable…Thank you Dylan! I am new to growing indoors ( so far just some house plants and want to grow my own micro greens) Dylan asked questions to make sure I got what I needed. I left feeling much more confident and excited about my growing projects. I will be continuing to come here for all my growing needs. Highly recommend this awesome place.

These guys are not good to work for, there was always tension with the managers. I worked extra hard to get in their good graces for about 6 months, they treated me like an expendable and discredited my experience and knowledge. They told me I would have to earn my stripes, thats when I left because there was no pleasing them and they treated their customers like dog doo doo. I cared deeply about getting the right products to the right people, they just saw money so we clashed. They sold the business right after I left, its still on Barbur but don't shop there. It's just an ugly experience, go to bloom; they are the real ones.

It's always a pleasure to come to the shop and talk to the guys there, even if I don't really need anything I enjoy just coming by. I really like getting their opinion on things, as well as just having some good ole' conversation. I never felt like they try to steer me to buy something just because it is expensive.I originally went in to shop their Down To Earth products and over time pretty much got the entire selection. I do wish they would stock Some Gaia Green but they said there wasn't much demand for it.They got a sampler table which is pretty sweet to come and try some new products, get some stickers and magazines. My favorite retail thing so far has been their new product section where they get items that aren't totally in the system but available for local customers to buy and try out like the.I really dig what they did with the front room and how they partnered up with some local nursery/plant retailers to stock their plants in there for display but also for sale. They got some sweet cacti in there. They pretty much have everything you can look for. From bottles to dry amendments, mycorrhizae, bacterial supplements and more. All type of hydro equipment, CO2, lights etc but I only deal with soil.Last summer they had a crazy garage sale and I was able to buy some stuff so cheap it felt like robbery. Hope to see this again!Their propagation section has good selections, I got a full 7" prop dome set up for like $10. The soil options are also unbeatable, from coir for mushrooms, castings and especially their Fox Farm Ocean Forest and Happy Frog. I was buying bags there for like $9.50 a pop which is an INSANELY good deal. I recently heard they went up to ~$12.50 but I have yet to verify this, maybe since summer is rolling around.Of course some things are a little cheaper on-line but in general you can't beat their prices for most things, especially large/heavy items. Even beyond that their guys there are just damn chill and will help wheel out your purchases. Also check out their IG ! @growgen_tigard

This was my first visit to the store. I went based on the recommendation of a good friend and I am so happy I did!! Staff that was willing to listen to me try to explain what I was looking for, (I am a very novice grower), make suggestions, and help me find great products. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable, excited about what they do, and excited about helping others. In contradiction to what I’ve seen others post, I thought the prices were better than some and reasonable for superior products. I will definitely become a loyal customer!

Agree with the other reviewers that this place is not customer friendly since it transitioned from Portland Hydro to GrowGeneration. I used to spend a thousand dollars every month or two with a 30% discount off shelf price. Now it’s strictly shelf prices. I will not return and do not recommend unless you are somehow connected with corporate. With so many other options I’m not sure how this is a good business model but ok.

Been a customer for 6 years plus, I know its new owners ect. Still with my "discount" price in store was higher then price from Grow Generation online shipped. Also they do not price match anyone. Half a dosen places cheaper then them. Do not feed the monster! Corporate monopoly.

I’m a houseplant enthusiast, and I grow mainly aroids and succulents.I have found so many outstanding products here. Their prices for leca, perlite, activated charcoal and other additives for my soil/substrate mix are much lower than anything I’ve found at big box stores or online. Their variety of products for pest management and fertilizer are mind-blowing. It’s definitely worth the trip for houseplant lovers.Every sales person I’ve worked with has been thoughtful and knowledgeable about their merchandise.Even though I may not be their target demographic, I enthusiastically endorse this shop.
