My check engine light came on, and O’Reilly diagnosed a P2009 code but couldn’t fix it. I brought my car to Meineke on Thursday to fix the code. They told me they need to do their own inspection first. I asked them to replace the part responsible for the code, and they charged me $317 for replacing only one of the two parts involved. They also added a $34 service fee at payment without telling me beforehand — no communication at all.
The next day, my check engine light came back on with the same issue. I took the car to Jiffy Lube, and they confirmed it was the same problem. When I returned to Meineke, the guy asked his employee, “Can you take a look at the car again?” He thought for a few seconds and then said no — refusing to fix their own faulty repair and sending me away until Monday.
I went back to Jiffy Lube, and they replaced both parts for $170, fixing the issue in just one hour.
If you want to experience overcharging, poor communication, and slow service, this store is the perfect place.

Meineke was great. Their diagnosis on my car was spot on. They were extremely helpful and transparent.

I brought my Vehicle for two repairs & paid $800 dollars and gave the Mechanic a $40 dollar tip. Yet the outcome wasn't what I paid for... right from the very beginning he had a very negative attitude I try to ignore this at one point giving an idea for the muffler placement and was told I know how to do my job with an attitude.
Okay I didn't suggest anything the job was done I paid and I drove off literally my check engine light has been coming on and never had came on before even before I did the repair the repair was too bolt on catalytic converters and a replacement Muffler the welds were so poor as you can clearly see in these photos. I decided to make another appointment to get a resonator installed after waiting 40 minutes the day of my appointment which is today I was told by the shop manager who seems very pleasant that the mechanic said he broke his welder tip and won't be able to do my repair so sorry to waste your time buddy but we'll have to reschedule you for next week.
As an American we're better than this I was told by the shop manager that the mechanic has 10 plus years of experience in welding and auto repair yet he did such a horrible job that only till I had to take my vehicle today to another repair shop after they put it on the lift and was told who messed this up and of course I had to say Meineke. I will never go back to Meineke again. Also I do believe the mechanic was racist because as a man of color the only thing I can say he's welcome for his freedom after 20 years of military service in United States Marine Corps I'm very disappointed and sad to see the piss poor job that he did on my vehicle. I do not recommend you go to the shop.

I’ve been here a few times now and every time they have been so kind!! Chris helped me understand what needed to be done to my car in a way that made me feel confident my car was in the right hands. I never felt like they were trying to oversell me on anything unnecessary. My car is good as new!! I will definitely use their service again in the future!!

Review of Meineke Car Care Center – A Costly and Dangerous Disappointment
I am deeply dissatisfied with the service I received at Meineke, which has left me with a vehicle I still cannot trust—despite paying over $5,700 between October 2024 and January 2025. What began with what appeared to be competent service from Nathan and Evan quickly devolved into alarming oversights, incomplete repairs, and safety hazards that raised serious questions about the quality of work at this location.
The most concerning issue was the brake service performed in January 2025. Meineke replaced my vehicle’s pads and rotors and noted potential issues with the struts, recommending replacement. However, despite having quoted the job, they ordered incompatible “OEM” parts and attempted to charge me more for the correct components. They also claimed alignment was unnecessary, only for a dealership to confirm later that it was never performed and required. I was shocked that Meineke’s alignment machine had been inoperable, yet they failed to disclose this upfront.
Further compounding these issues, I raised concerns about noises from the right side of the vehicle. Evan linked them to the CV axle, but when I returned after the brake work, I was shown a newly installed left front CV axle—despite never authorizing that specific repair. Even worse, the front passenger-side brake caliper was left dangerously unsecured. The lower bolt was missing, and the upper bolt barely held. I discovered this while working from home during a snowstorm week—thankfully, I wasn’t driving much. The scraping and clanking noises, initially mistaken for a CV joint issue, turned out to be a severely botched brake installation that endangered my family and others on the road.
Adding insult to injury, Meineke replaced my catalytic converter on October 24, 2024. Since then, I’ve continued to experience exhaust smells and have seen black soot accumulate in my garage—something I’d never experienced before. Despite repeated visits and assurances from Meineke that everything was fine, a manufacturer-affiliated dealership and an independent shop later found multiple installation mistakes. Because Meineke used non-OEM parts, the dealership would not perform further work and advised a complete replacement with direct-connect parts at $3,600. Meineke repeatedly failed to identify exhaust leaks that were obvious to the dealership.
After giving Meineke numerous opportunities to correct these serious issues, I’ve lost all confidence in their work. Their failure to properly install brakes—leaving my vehicle in a hazardous condition—combined with the unresolved exhaust problems and lack of transparency, makes this one of the most disappointing and dangerous service experiences I’ve ever had.
I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for vehicle service, especially if safety and professionalism are priorities. In addition, it has been months with no follow-up or response. Finally the owner calls today (months after the fact) with Unknown-Private- Blocked Line, and like most of us now-a-days, those calls go straight to spam per Google Policy. Happy to talk with you about the refund I require to make this right when you call from an unblocked line.

The staff at Meineke have always done a stellar job on my family's cars. The prices are fair and the work is done right the first time. They take the time to explain what needs to be fixed right away and why.
