I am so disappointed in Pottery Barn's customer service apparatus. Several months ago I returned an order. Over the course of three months, I talked to more than 10 people on their customer service line. From a $140 order, they initially only refunded me $40. The customer service representative would always promise me something. Once it was a e-merchant card, the next time it was two e-merchandise cards, then a promise to credit my credit card. What happens at Pottery Barn is that the customer service representative promises you something, and then the supervisor denies it, but no one ever lets you know. No one lets you know that the promise has been denied, so you wait around for the card, or for the credit, or for the call that never comes. I was told that I could not speak to a supervisor, but that I had to email. I emailed but never received a reply. In the latest debacle, the supervisor was supposed to call me, but never did. I finally got my money back over through sheer persistence. It was many hours on the phone with my blood pressure spiking. I told them that I would never do business with them again, and it didn't seem to matter. They are just a big store, with fancy prices, who could care less about their customers. There is a major flaw in their process!

We researched a specific mattress we wanted, Leesa sapira hybrid, and searched for a store in the area we could find it. We called Pottery Barn in Tigard and asked specifically if they had that particular mattress and we were told that they had a floor model we could sit on and check out. We drove one hour each way and when we got to the store one staff member testily told us she was busy and didn't have time to help us. Another staff member heard her and stepped in to ask if she could help. I showed her the specific mattress on my phone and she took me to the only Leesa mattress in the store, which was not the one we asked about. Obviously the staff is poorly educated on selling mattresses and wasted two hours of our driving time.

My husband and I bought a dining room table for our home. The pedestal of the table broke within two months of receiving. We had the table picked up and returned in January 2023. It is April and we have yet to receive a refund for our returned table. I have a thread of emails for the credit follow up, with replies of assurance that I will be credited. It is shocking that a business can still be in business with this type of service. I do not recommend Pottery Barn.

I went there with my roommates to look at what they had. We sat on a couch they had for a minute or two and talked about the furniture we were interested in before moving on. One of their employees (an old, blond lady) ask if we needed help, I replied "no we're just looking." And before I could say anything else we were told to leave immediately because it was "not a hang out area." There were no signs indicating we were not allowed to try the furniture nor was there any warning of such. I found it very rude and inconsiderate that we were kick out with no valid reason. Considering that we were potentially going to invest in their furniture.

Their customer service is hilariously horrible. Went to buy a backpack online earlier this week. It was saying it was on sale but not transferring the sale to the checkout screen. Customer service said it was a glitch and it would be fixed in 48 hours. Still not fixed 48+ hours later. Customer service says that specific backpack isn’t even on sale. Google search backpacks to find a different one, that specific backpacks ad for its sale price is in the search. ?? customer service then says “we do not have control over what Google displays for pricing”. Bro, it’s your companies ad. With a link to potterybarn ?

Went by here with my family and went through the entire store with employees avoiding us, never interacted, two employees at the counter having a personal conversation seemed to not care, I know employees can be busy but none of the employees seemed too busy to acknowledge or ask if there’s something we need help with, not sure if it’s our appearance but we are not in there just to look.

Very unimpressed with almost every employee we talked to. Very snobby. We asked about their sales and one employee goes "it's not about saving money it's about getting what you want." Not a very friendly environment. Still left spending quite a bit of money, however.

Cute lamp on sale for being the floor model, however did not include the lampshade and for $220 on sale for the floor model I could not justify it. The first time I walked in I didn't get acknowledged or helped but stepped out and turned back around to look at the lamp because I had just seen it and then got help that time. Cute stuff and store. The customer service was not present at first.

I went in about a week ago & was completely ignored by 3 employees while they carried on their personal conversation. The store wasn't busy & I didn't hear them greet or offer assistance to any customer. So I took pictures of things I liked & found similar items online for better prices.

I love Pottery Barn! The style and design flows well over the years, so that much of the new items still work well with items I've bought in the past. It's nice to be able to walk in and buy another place setting, extra bedding that matches or co-ordinates with what I already have. It make home furnishing shopping much easier. I also love that you can buy a throw pillow cover with or without the pillow insert, so that I can change them out for different seasons. The staff is very nice, and helpful. If they don't have what I want in stock, they offer to check at the NW 23rd location or online for customers. Very relaxing ambiance, which implies that their goods can contribute to a relaxing home environment.
