For 30+ years I’ve been going to Roy Boys for chainsaw, lawn mower, and generator maintenance and repair and never had a bad experience. It is a service company you can trust. Staff is fair, friendly, honest, and extremely competent technically.

I would give them 6 stars if I could. Two gentlemen behind the counter helped me with a chain binding issue on my MS 251 chainsaw. They recognized the sprocket that Amazon had sold me was the wrong size for my chain. Thanks for evrything guys you solved the issue!!!!

I purchased a Toro cordless leaf blower from Home Depot in Sept. of 2020. It is still under warranty. It has become defective, and shocks you when you press the 'turbo boost' button down when in use. I took it to Home Depot, who does not service Toro products, and they sent it to Roy Boys for diagnostics and repair.I got the leaf blower back after 2.5 weeks. The write up from Roy Boys said that they did not get shocked while using it, and that the unit is plastic, which can not conduct electricity. They went on to say that because nothing is wrong with the unit, that their services are not covered under warranty, so I was charged labor and for "shop supplies." They then went on to say "Unfortunately, we can not control the weather," and told me to just wipe the blower down with dryer sheets suggesting it was just static electricity.I fired the unit up again today, and lo and behold it is still shocking me. I contacted Toro, they confirmed that while compressing the turbo boost button, there are exposed wires that could shock you, but there was nothing more they could do other than tell me to try a new service department. Thanks, Roy Boys, for gaslighting me, and then charging me for your services, despite the defective unit being under warranty.

Took my 15 year-old Stihl trimmer in for service. It had a gas leak and wouldn't start. They went through it and now it is back to "1-pull" starts every time! It's like a new machine! These guys know their craft. Thanks!

Took my lawnmower in last spring because it was in storage for several years. They took it and later charged me what I thought was reasonable, to rebuild the carburetor and a few other small things. A couple of months later (after running fine) it was having problems remaining running, especially when cold, so I dropped in to see what my options were. The guy behind the counter wouldn't stop eating his burrito long enough to tell me it was probably a carburetor problem. (Really?) Long story short, they offer "zero warranty" on their work. And as bad luck would have it, I just tried starting it for the first time this season and it will only stay running if I sit next to it and keep pressing the primer bulb in and out, in and out, in and out. This was after using a gasoline additive they recommended all last year. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. EDIT - cleaned out the carburetor myself (no mechanical skills) and it's been running perfectly since, two seasons no problems. 2nd EDIT - It's been five years w/o problems.

Best shop in town. They always get me the saws I need and usually carry a wide selection in the shop. Roy the owner has been there for ever and is super nice. If your saw breaks take it there and they will fix it like new. It just takes forever sometimes but worth the wait.

Good customer service even for a homeowner. They took the time to walk through options and look up special requests.

Had a problem with my Stihl weed trimmer carburetor. Tried everything without success. Brought it in, Roy Boys looked at it and suggested I might have bad gas. I drained it, refilled and they were spot on. They know what they're doing and I thank them for their advice.

Brought them my craftsman riding mower and they got back to me with an estimate, 60 some odd dollars! I couldn’t believe it. Was so surprised at this deal, I made them repeat this price at least three times. Mind you I’m no mechanic and didn’t know what was wrong, I said great! Do it. A few weeks later they call me..... yeah your mower is done, 600 and some odd dollars!!!!!!! Long story short I no longer have a mower. Absolutely ridiculous, I do not recommend.

I dropped my lawn mower off for a blade sharpening and they told me it would probably take 3-4 days until it's ready. Instead they called me the next day to say it was ready to be picked up. The service was fast and affordable. They did a good job too.

I took my MS660 chainsaw in for repair because it wouldn't start. The saw had been running perfect until the tip broke of the coil. I replaced the coil but it still wouldn't start, so I took it into Roy Boys for repair. They told me it would be 2 weeks before they could look at it. 3 weeks later, I called them for a status. They said they had been shutdown for 2 weeks due to Covid and they would look at it next week. 3 more weeks went by and they finally called me and said the saw was not repairable. They said it had an aftermarket coil and piston and these would needed to be replaced with factory parts before they could even start to figure out what was wrong with the saw. They said it would be too expensive to fix the saw and didn't even quote me a price to replace the coil and piston. (Keep in mind, this is a $1,000 saw, so spending a $200 to fix it is not out of line). So, I brought it home and bought a special tool for checking spark ($20 tool). Found out there was no spark. The brand new coil was bad. Because it had been at Roy Boys for 2 months, I couldn't return the bad coil. Purchased a new coil from a different company on Amazon. Installed the new coil and the saw runs perfect again. I'll never use Roy Boys again!
