Absolutely and thoroughly disgusted right now. Deposited cash through the ATM at the branch this morning. Immediately after giving me a receipt it rejected the cash deposit and everyone is telling me it can take up to 10 days for them to resolve the fact that they have my money and it is not in my account. Yes you read correctly they kept the cash in the machine yet immediately withdrew it from my account. They claim to be abiding by federal law, but if this is how they treat their customers, then they aught to lose a few. I am thoroughly disgusted and disappointed. I did not think in our technological age that something like this is even possible but clearly it is. I guess I will have to find another bank. UPDATESO MY ISSUE WAS RESOLVED. It took till the last minute before any fees occurred. Am still a customer and I do appreciate the manager calling me to address this issue. Telling me that it could take 10 days was not accurate or fair but they did solve it within 24 hours. Thank you Umpqua.

Former Columbia Bank customer, with Umpqua now due to merger - The online banking is a HUGE step down from what we had before. The lag in balance and transaction information is hard to understand as someone who has worked in banking for decades. I feel like I’m banking in the early 2000s. The information is so slow and unreliable and it’s bad enough to make me switch banks after being a customer since 2007 and having gone thru multiple merges/bank name changes - this is the one that did me in. Catch up Umpqua!

Just recently the bank that I have been with for 20+ years was bought out or absorbed by Umpqua Bank. I am disappointed because they are shutting down the location that I always go to because it’s so close. But Umpqua has been really easy to work with besides that so far.

I have been banking here for many years and just did my first auto loan with them. Emily was wonderful and worked through all the challenges that arose. Thank you

I've had checking, savings, and mortgage accounts with Umpqua for 5 years. The problems I have with them are the following: 1) You can only use their ATM, 2) You cannot access funds from overseas (such as during vacations), 3) Funds transfer to another bank is extremely limited on a per-day and per-month basis. I wanted to move several thousand dollars to another bank but could not, or it would take me 2 months to move the funds due to monthly limitations. I am closing this account. I have to write a check for the balance in order to close the account because electronic transfers are so limited. Think about this when you want to close your account. It's quite painful.

If you are not a account holder you get treated like a criminal it took me five minutes for them to have to call and verify funds on a check. This is the 21st century they saw the funds were in there but they have to call because I'm not an account holder at this Bank! Makes me feel discriminated against!!!!! Go to the website and say or do something they don't care you won't get a response back. No one inside that building is wearing masks, they are all sharing the same microphone at the drive-thru without wiping it down and just because they are inside a building when state law currently says if you are in a building you have to have a mask on all the employees in there are running around without masks and without sanitizing microphones and telephones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a customer of Umpqua Bank for years. I even worked for them as a contractor at one point helping put in some of the marketing technology into some of the branches. I do not know what has happened but over the years the quality of the service had gone downhill. I finally pulled the plug on the one account I had with them about four weeks ago. I used it as a back up to my main business account. I had not had a lot of activity on the account but I am reasonably sure I had used it in November of last year. I pulled up to the drive-in window to make a fairly sizeable deposit and was told that the account was on "Inactive Status." Which meant I could not even make the deposit. At that point, I asked to close the account. I was in the drive-in as I said and I was a bit upset and more or less demanded they cut me a check then and there. They did it and kept their cool so I give them one extra star for that. The truth is that I think that when Ray Davis (former CEO) left this bank it lost its heart. Umpqua is no longer the "Worlds Greatest Bank", not even close. There were other less than positive interactions in the last few years. It was time to move on. Hate to see this. It was a very good bank at one time.

Without exception, all the staff I've interacted with, both in person and on the phone, are very friendly and helpful. For that I'll give Umpqua 5 stars. The three star rating is due to the dismal ATM system they have in place. It is very slow and asks way too many questions. As a result my wife and I both dread having to use the ATM and will instead just go inside during business hours. They really need to replace their system. We've banked with B of A and Chase and both have far superior ATM systems.

It is not the bank they claim to be. Was a member for years and they seem to complicate customer functions that should be easy. There seems to be a disconnect between the marketing of how they want their bank to operate and how it actually operates. I would rather forego the free coffee, atmosphere and perks to get a better banking service and not have to wait on hold (currently am on hold) for over 7 minutes to answer a simple question that is not answered or serviced on their website.

Came here straight after work to get here at 4:30, said half an hour wasn't enough time to open a bank account. Not sure how they expect to help people who have jobs.

I've been with Umpqua bank for over a decade and I honestly haven't had a very good experience at any of their locations. Recently I had an ATM malfunction and not give my debit card back after attempting to deposit my check. I had to wait until the bank was open the next day to retrieve my card, and then when I got it back I was accused of tampering with the machine. I opened a savings account at another bank and within the first couple months I was offered credit cards with great interest rates, and the customer service was really helpful with my questions regarding home and auto loans. For as long as I've been with Umpqua, I have never experienced anything even remotely close to this. I try to keep as little money as I can with Umpqua and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be with them. I want to clarify that most of the people working there do a good job, but the bank itself is awful. After banking here for 10+ years, I have yet to see any benefit from doing business with them.

I've had an account with Umpqua for over 12 years and they really don't care about their customers. I regret banking with them for so long.

Great service. They never complain about my large change orders!
