The Latimer Quilt & Textile Center is a wonderful museum and a must-see for crafters and anyone who appreciates art. It is an excellent display of quilts and weaving, with many historical and modern pieces, including exquisite quilts and other handiworks. The museum features rotating, museum-quality installations that include many forms of textiles, even basketry. It is a great quilt and textile museum with an extensive collection. Visitors can look at beautiful yarns and fabrics, fabulous quilts available to buy, and many other crafts for sale or to just window shop. There are tactile opportunities, with drawers to explore, piles of goods, and a loom to try out. The center is also a hub for activity, with weavers that meet every week, along with rug hookers and knitters. They offer classes and workshops for a broad range of interests, including felting and needle felting supplies and classes. Active quilting and weaving projects are often underway. The staff are friendly, dedicated, and knowledgeable. The curator is a treasure to listen to, sharing lots of history about the museum, the quilts, and the area with great dedication to curation and preservation. With advance notice, the center will do a bed turning, taking guests into the quilt archive to show historic quilts. The experience is often described as a quintessential and fortuitous stop, well worth the visit. If you haven’t been there, you’re really missing out.
Very cool museum about quilting, sewing, weaving, and more. They have quilts and other items for purchase. Don't miss trying out the community loom and learning how to weave!

This place could use some organizing but overall I have found myself telling other people they ought to visit. Knitters, quilters, sewers, weavers, and all other fiber artists and crafts people will find something to love. Bring your own projects and stay a while. I wish I had.
