Went there for some ujoints replaced and a few other things and got a call 15 minutes later saying my engine has a rod knocking and he could put a new motor in for around $10,000 well that was so far from the truth I don't know if he just don't know what he is doing or trying to scam me? I would get a second opinion from someone else if you go with him

My beetle broke down in Newport and the tow person recommended Ray. He said he would tow the car there. It sat for months on end. Ray recommended a new engine for it and said I should go through parts place. Parts place finally came through and delivered the engine in November with extra charges for limited access. It wasn't until May u til Ray got to the car. He got pissed off cause the wiring and generator was messed up. Autowerks was the last place that fixed wiring back to it's original state, and Earnie from Earnies mobile rigged it before that. All lights worked when I dropped car off but now brake lights don't work. He put new engine in finally and told me to pick car up. Our text dialogs weren't anything out of the ordinary but he got nasty and wouldn't take any money when I tried to pay him. Then he threatened me w police. Please be careful with this person he thinks he hears something when you didn't say it and gets viciously retaliatory. There were 3 dents on top of the car which my husband would attest that there were never there before. I asked Ray about this and he said he didn't notice them we pounded them out. I never accused him of anything breaking my tail lights etc. I was very hesitant on having my car towed there but this abuse of power attitude w him was uncalled for. He has a lot of drama and there is always a conquested victim. I asked for an invoice and never received anything. He just turned. Now I'm still going to have to get the car to Autowerks. I was patient. I question his attitude about women. I did nothing wrong. I was relieved when I finally got my car back, it wasn't worth the threats at the end. I had hoped for a better business transaction. When someone refuses your money there's a reason for it.

Ray said my engine was blown and would require a replacement. He sat on it for 7 months and did nothing. Towed it to another shop and it just needed the turbo hose replaced He charged me 700 dollars in diagnostic fees. He was wrong. Cost me 124.96 for repairs at a reputable shop.

Ray took 1200 dollars from a veteran after he told them needed a new motor. He replaced the starter only. Told me the serial numbers on the engine were identical because you have to grind them off and replace them... Had it examined at numerous shops in the area and got my money back. He's a liar and a bad mechanic.

I had transmission problems and Ray was recommended. He went above and beyond with with finding me a cheaper used transmission and tried to make it as cost efficient as he could. Very reasonable prices for a guy who is a wizard with vehicle repair. Not only is he good at what he does, he's also a veteran. Stand up shop and I absolutely recommend.

This Shop and Ray were Absolutely WonderfulHe replaced the Engine and Under Dash Wiring Harness in my MINI Cooper and now it Runs Perfectly ???Ray is My Mechanic from now on!

Ray Is by far the best. I had several codes that caused my jeep to go into limp mode. Well it happened while crabbing in Newport. They were the closest to me so I took it there as an emergency, boy did Ray treat it as such. After checking a couple things I took it in town for a test drive. Guess what happened next!? My front passenger side wheel broke off at the ball joints, in the middle of the road in front of the gas station. A tow truck later back to R&J's and trip to the hotel. Next day, my jeep was ready. Not only did they rebuild my suspension back in such short notice the freakin price was amazing. They also Fixed my P0507 code . My jeep is near it's end but they kept this old girl hopping beautifully until we turn her in. 216000 miles and going strong. Thank you guys. Oh, Did I mention, this man is a Veteran.
