Unfortunately, I had a bad experience here. Purchased a $300 pair of leather pants as a gift, and they did not fit exactly right, and since they were leather, they could not be altered. Returned them, and they man behind the counter had basically no customer service skills. I asked for a return receipt for the return since it was a fairly expensive purchase and he explained with attitude they couldn't give me any paper receipt and I would just have to validate it online. He then just literally just walked away as I was checking to get back to his smoke break.

Nice selection of boots, however, staff was more interested in chatting with friends than helping, and buying a pair for a gift, we were told it was required to give them our phone number, email address, and home address. Thought you just needed to bring your receipt? The person returning them is supposed to know all your info to return them?

Boot Barn Troutdale does not care about customer service because of new management, specially Jake or Paul. Take your business elsewhere!
I’ve been boot barn customer for the last 2 decades and have spent around $30k during that period. Boot Barn has been my go-to for western items (boots and hats) for my family. Their customer service has always been top notch and they would take care of customers in car of defects.
I purchased a pair of Double H boots for $350 about 13 months ago. The boot leather came apart from the sole, defective item. When I had defective issues in the past, Boot Barn always took care of me with a replacement. However, according the the cashiers, this new manager doesn’t care about customer satisfaction and is very by the book. He wouldn’t allow them to do anything for me and pretty much said tough luck, I should’ve came in there a month prior.
I’ve had issues with the quality of items purchased from Boot Barn over the last 5 years, with 20% needing repairs/replacement. This issue applies to their in-house brand boots and big names they carry (Ariat, Dan Post, Justin’s, etc.). I understand they are just resellers and the manufacturers are the ones making the bad products. However, they are responsible for taking care of customers who purchase from them.
It’s this kind of financial bottom-line, no customer satisfaction management that makes a company like this lose lifetime customers such as myself.
While Boot Barn has a big selection of quality products, I encourage consumers to search out other local retailers who care about customer service. Boot Barn seems to have lost the focus of their core values and only care about profits nowadays. Shame when companies start to focus on greed instead of taking care of their customers.
The irony in all of this? Their manager made them lost income today. I was there to buy some new hats and boots for my boys, a sale that was going to be around $1300.
