McMenamins Edgefield Golf Course offers a fun and scenic experience, ideal for players of all skill levels. The course features two par 3 courses—one nine-hole and one twenty-hole—both well-maintained and challenging, especially the small, sloped greens that test players' precision. It is a great place to work on your short game and enjoy lovely views of the surrounding gorge area. The courses are walking only, so bringing your own putter and wedges is recommended, though clubs and balls are available at the clubhouse. The venue is easy to access, with clear signage from the hotel, and offers plenty of places to eat, drink, and relax within the property, which also includes a hotel, winery, brewery, distillery, theater, and music venues. The course is family and pet friendly, with a small fee for pets. It’s popular with local players, especially those looking to improve their skills or just have fun. The course can get busy, especially during events, so checking their website for schedules is advised. While the course is suitable for beginners and more serious golfers alike, some reviews mention that etiquette can vary, with some players chatting or drinking on the course. Players have noted that paying for golf balls can be inconvenient, suggesting a deposit system might be better. Overall, McMenamins Edgefield Golf Course provides a beautiful, relaxed setting for a casual game or a quick practice session, making it a popular spot for both locals and visitors.
The golf course was short and sweet and fun! Nicely spaced out and saw lots of wildlife. Why in the world do you have to pay for the golf balls though?? I would rather put down a deposit and pay for any that I lose.
