It was a heartbreaking realization that my mother was no longer able to care for herself. Fortunately, after interviewing and touring multiple assisted living facilities, I found Brookdale River Valley Tualatin. The staff is wonderful, responsive, and take great care of my mother. I know she is safe and in great hands.

Brookdale river valley tualatin memory care has the most phenomenal and hard-working caregivers. The activities are awesome, everyone working there works amazingly together and it's great to watch every time I go visit my grandma.

As a seasoned senior living executive I am very proud of our team here at River Valley - I have experienced numerous other companies and community's and have never felt the confidence , collaboration and positive energy that I do here . Our leaders are deeply interested, engaged and solution oriented- Those are priceless attributes - With ongoing authentic and direct communication with our residents , families and each-other, there is nothing we cannot overcome and resolve. Non-postive Reviews that are very much in the past should not be considered a detriment to our current atmosphere or team - Please reach out for further correspondence :)

I used to work here and I loved it here. Until I moved to another state. Everyone loves their job. Staff work very hard everyday to make sure their residents are well care for. Some families just dropped their love ones here and never seen them again. Staff is all the residents look for everyday. The same faces, same smiling and go above and beyond what they do to make sure their residents are cared and loved each day. Staff and management are very supportive. Maritza, Teresa, Eva, Blair and Beth, you guys are the best for the staff and for all the residents. Thank you so much for all you do. See you back soon!

This Brookdale location pulled the good old bait and switch on me. I was promised two things during hire that were crystal clear: 1) I would work weekends and 2) I was hired for a med aid position. Everything was great until I showed up to work my shift. Either management doesn’t know their workers schedules or I was lied to, because they work 4 on, 2 off. I was also let known, that they only hire caregivers and move up caregivers to med aids. If you are hired as a med aid, you will not be working as one until you are moved up. Zero communication- I called and tried to figure things out, only to be left with empty promises and no calls back. Thankfully, I was in a position where I did not rely upon this job, but in a economy where people rely on their jobs, I feel that Brookdale shows they have zero integrity and respect for their community. During training, I was very concerned with the way staff treat patients. They’re so understaffed yet don’t have to capability to even hire staff properly.

Hey I used to work there last year and I can tell you pretty much every horror story you hear is probably trueNeglecting residenceAbusing residenceManagement not caring, or following up on reports of neglect and abuseI personally reported a caregiver who kept intentionally aggravatin a resident until the resident snapped and had the cops called on him. A resident with dementia who is just being abused by a caregiver is now in trouble legally, it was ridiculous.Management letting a guy with a broken leg work for 3 weeks in a wheelchair just to fire him for violating policy. The policy? Not pushing the med cart room to room while in a wheelchair with a broken leg. And yes medical paperwork was submitted showing his leg was broken. On any given night at least 5 residents don’t get dinner because the kitchen forgot them. And doesn’t care. Leaving the caregivers to try to figure out some food to give them. I’ve seen staff order food for residents because they were not served food all day. And when reported to managementWell the Executive Director and the kitchen Director are Besties so… nothing done.I’ve worked for a few places as a caregiver or a CNA and Brookdale is without a doubt, the most toxic environment I’ve ever seen an employment.

Yoo my buddy worked there. Always under staffed, caregivers were taunting and being so rude to residents. They failed state inspections so many times idk how they’re not shut down.I remember one resident complaining the staff only spoke Spanish in her room just to annoy her, because they’d speak English to other residents that they liked.A graveyard med tech assaulted a resident and when another staff member complained she was let go.They have employees working with broken legs in wheelchair dispensing meds.I’ve personally seen soo many ppl drinking alcohol or smoking weed in vapes while they’re working.Like the Hispanic lady in charge of the medtech matriza and Elizabeth muller the executive Director talking about how matriza was too drunk to work her full shiftThis place is absolutely disgusting!!!0 stars if I could.I would never work there nor put my ex wives parents there. And they hate me

Matriza an RCC was drunk while working on Christmas Day covering for a med tech. The company had another med tech using a wheelchair for 3 weeks because he broke his leg and I know he couldn’t follow policy during that time because they fired him for it. Even tho they were the ones allowing him to work on in a wheelchair with a broken leg.

This is a horrible place and needs to be either shut down or find way better employees! They not only elder abuse but they don’t do their job and are extremely disrespectful. My nana wouldn’t let them do her medicine anymore because they would forget and not give her the meds that she needs to live and then went into her room and took her meds without her consent! Anytime she needs help, the neglect her and she ended up trying to do it herself or calling her family. We are moving her soon but for the money they want they don’t do a dang thing and it’s so unfortunate. I feel horrible for all the residence there and getting no care.

RE: Review of Brookdale Senior Living Tualatin, OR
Placing a loved one into an assisted living/memory care facility can be one of the scariest things for any family to endure. It can be filled with apprehension, fear, guilt, and downright uncertainty of the outcome. The following is a glimpse into our experience with the facility and staff at Brookdale senior community in Tualatin, OR in hopes that it may help others with the transition of their family member.
We had our “Sister” on a waiting list for several months with the State of Oregon for an assisted living apartment (3200 people were also on that list), due to her worsening dementia. We had almost given up when I received a call from Shawna (sales manager) at Brookdale Tualatin stating that an apartment was available (Mid November 2022).
We arrived with boxes in hand to a friendly Reception staff (Kim & Jean) ready to help us in any way they could. And help they did. In less than 2 hours, the move in paperwork was completed and we were onto getting things moved in. They had carts and a maintenance staff to help with any need we had.
We were introduced to the complex in the middle of a massive renovation. We were apprehensive until we saw the renderings of what it would look like after completion.
In the days that followed, we met with Blair Resare (office manager) who explained all of the complicated state “Red tape” in a way that we could understand. I was really impressed with Beth Mueller (Executive Director of the complex) when she reached out to us. She introduced herself and explained her “open door policy”. Should we ever need anything or have concerns, her door is always open. We were offered to try the food ourselves and we were impressed on how good it was.
We are over there to visit 3-4 times a week, and it has always been the same friendly staff every time. “Sisters” medicine is given to her 3 times a day by Kikki and the other MedTechs, food is served 3 timed a day in a restaurant style dining room, and the cleaning staff takes care of her room weekly.
My biggest advise to a family is to LET THEM DO THEIR JOBS! We were constantly hovering, because of concerns whether “Sister” would adapt to living there. One night, early on, “Sister” was having an awfully bad night. Her dementia had her confused and not sure of her surroundings at 1:00am! A special shout out to Damion who walked with her for almost 2 hours until she calmed down and went to sleep. Way above and beyond! Our “Sister” is shy around new things and new people. Jasmine Riccardi (Programs Coordinator) went out of her way to get “Sister” introduced to other residents and, to my surprise, participate in group activities!
It has been 2 ½ months now, and the renovations are almost completed. The place boasts new paint, carpet, tile, pictures, and all new furniture. Place is absolutely beautiful! I recommend a tour for anyone in a similar situation as we were. “Sister” has acclimated to her place better than we could have ever hoped for. She constantly tells us how great the food was that day and that she has to get off the phone because her friends are waiting for her. That alone should be the most accurate review given!
I hope that this helps a family in any small way,
John & Sherry Simonis
& “Sister”

Terrible place. My dad had been there for over four years and they seem to have a new executive director every six months, which leads to no oversight of the staff. There is either to few caregivers or they are worn out, as it is very difficult to find any help, and the response time to a call button is very long.We can't leave fast enough.
