“Wow! I was referred by a friend and needed my windshield replaced and recalibrated. As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, having to get something fixed can make me a little nervous . The office staff and technician staff were so kind and welcoming when I had my initial appointment.
After 2 weeks I noticed what sounded like a wind leak and my calibration was not working quite right so we made an appointment to get it looked at. Again, the team was so kind and were so quick to fix the issue. (Don’t let this deter you, my car would be the finicky one!)

“The most enterprising shop I have seen. Hector quickly made an estimate of what it would take to take the significant bend out of my car door. And in under an hour, he had the door fixed. Very good job, very competent bodyshop owner and very enterprising - he had a few minutes and simply worked the problem and fixed it. Definitely worth the stop if you are in need of body work on your car. They may do smaller mechanical fixes too like brakes suspension etc.”

Super easy text communication and upfront pricing with my insurance. Scheduling was easy and they came out to my home and were able to get everything replaced in less than an hour.
The cherry on top was going back into my car and seeing that the entire front of the car had been cleaned, floors vacuumed, and everything wiped down like a mini detail. Super nice and not something I expected. Also a step above from when I'd used safelife in the past (for a back window.) All in all would definitely recommend Metro Auto Glass for any window replacements!”

They recommend two used tires in good condition and gave me a great deal. “Hoagland's Secret Sauce......It's hard to find experienced and well seasoned people these days. Gerber's mcloughlin blvd store in Portland seems to have figured out the secret sauce needed to balance what I need to keep coming back with what the business needs to do well. Managers like Ron Hoagland have this knack for handling difficult situations and turning them into great experiences. My beautiful old Jaguar got some great care and I got to talk with someone who's been there done that. To many people in the business are just putting in their time and collecting a check. Not the case with Gerber on mcloughlin and Ron Hoagland. You can just tell when someone has the experience needed to be a true pro while at the same time keeping my best interests in mind.

“Overall, I had a positive experience at this shop. Despite being incredibly busy, they made an effort to ensure my repairs felt like a priority. The receptionist was friendly and efficient.
The quality of work on my vehicle was excellent, which is ultimately the most important factor.
I’m deducting one star due to a minor communication issue. On Friday, they called to tell me my vehicle was ready, but due to my own schedule, I couldn’t pick it up before they closed for the weekend. I was told it would be ready on Monday, and I could come by anytime. However, when I arrived Monday afternoon, I was informed the vehicle wouldn’t be ready for a few more hours as it still needed reassembly. This caused some inconvenience with my rental car return, which could have been avoided with clearer communication.
Additionally, I was asked to give a 10 out of 10 rating on a survey, as anything less would affect someone's commission. As you can see from this review, I do not feel this particular experience deserves a perfect score, but I don't want anyone punished over it.
Bottom line: Despite the small communication error, Gerber did an excellent job on my repair, and I do recommend them.”
