Gotta say these reviews are certainly nowhere close to the experiences i have had, R+L has always delivered with great communication and on time!If i had to guess i would say some competitors were making the bad reviews, i got called today about a delivery from blue ridge heating and air my 2nd delivery in a month and 3rd in the last 2 years and R+L has always had great communication and on time delivery if i could give them 10 stars i would!

This company can't give you a time of delivery, and when they do it is not worth squat!!! Worst delivery company ever.

This carrier company receives an ABSOLUTE ZERO for ineffective coordination for delivery, point of delivery, and complete lack of professionalism at EVERY LEVEL.At NO TIME was I ever informed this company ONLY provides curbside delivery. Nothing further. A wooden pallet containing several hundred pounds of gear will remain where the driver deems appropriate. When R&L Carriers contacted me for a delivery date, I WAS NOT notified of their "curbside only" policy. My assumption was they would be fully prepared to deliver this heavy pallet where I needed it. Not dumped in the driveway. As a 'one-time customer' of long-haul, I am not familiar with current long haul policies or procedures, nor would I be familiar with the policies of R&L Carriers, which provides curbside only. This may be a "Norm" within the trucking industry, but it isn't known by the general consumer. This could have easily been addressed during the initial coordination for delivery. But it was not. As a consumer, I have a reasonable expectation to be notified of delivery specifics and/or restrictions which may impact delivery and receipt on my end.The driver completely lacked ANY basic courtesy or professionalism. Instead, he actually tapped his wrist indicating he had a time-line to keep. When I told him he would standby until I finished this conversation with R&L " Customer Service". This driver actually had the AUDACITY to attempt to upload my freight back onto his truck, which I HAD PAID FOR, and told me he was leaving because I had not signed for it!I then stood in front of the driver and the truck ramp and told him he WAS NOT GOING to put my gear back onto the truck. That WAS NOT going to happen. Lacking any basic professionalism, or situational awareness to de-escalate the tension, his ONLY response was to tell me not to threaten him and stop being hostile!! I restated that this wasn't a threat, it was a declaration that he WOULD NOT put my paid for property back onto his truck. I then told him to stop and that he did not want to go down that road. I was not going to allow that to happen. To paint a better picture;AT NO TIME did I yell or threaten him. I attempted to explain to the driver, that my frustration was not his fault. As a Retired Army Green Beret, I very much understand threat-vs-non-threat terminology and action. This driver lacked the composure and professional capacity to handle a situation which could have easily been avoided. Sad. And this is America. At this point, any reconciliation was a lost cause. Clearly this driver's demeanor is a representation of R&L Carriers and a by-product of poor work ethic and weak company leadership. When I contacted R&L Carriers and spoke to "Customer Service", the response I received was ANYTHING BUT " Customer Service". The ' R&L Carrier Representative' I spoke with defended the driver's actions and ignored my complaint, only to re-state their curbside delivery only policy. As I proceeded to explain further, I was interrupted and given a condescending reply of " You should have checked our website".Again, I re-stated that during the initial coordination, I should have been notified of their delivery procedures.Utter lack of professionalism and basic decency.R&L Carriers are not exclusive providers of long haul delivery. I recommend ANYONE looking for a delivery provider to ABSOLUTELY AVOID THIS COMPANY. It is worth paying more to receive a level of professionalism and customer service, which clearly R&L Carriers DOES NOT possess or promote.

Im a former driver of this company. I have to say ive never been happier leaving this terminal. They treat there customers and employees like trash. The management at this terminal are toxic and unprofessional to say the least. I would not prefer anybody to work here, Unless you like soap operas like Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, or Days of Our Lives you have found the place to be. To each there own. STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE.

If you like to be told you would be informed when delivery would happen but receive no contact until a driver pounds on your door and then deal with the worst carrier drivers (rude, impatient, unhelpful) then this is your carrier company! I get deliveries from them all, these guys really miss the mark. Glad it was all captured on our cameras. (BTW - The call center is not helpful either.)

Worst freight company I have ever worked with. Spent over $6000 to have a package delivered from Washington to Canada. Package was over 2 weeks late. Package was heavily crated and still showed up to our customer damaged. Filed a claim with them and was denied after three months of trying to get answers. Over $10k in damages to the machine we sent and they wouldn't even refund us the shipping cost.

This is a company that doesn't care if your freight you are expecting is damaged or not. There loading skills are the worst I have ever seen. They damage freight as they laod it just to get it in the trailer.

The worst customer service. No attempt to call about an expected ETA or when in close proximity in a very large delivery window (1pm-5pm).I called the Office once I found my door tag. An instantly defensive woman stated that they “attempted to make a call” but checked my phone and there were no missed calls or voicemails. I explained this and She then proceeded to back pedal and tell me they needed calling instructions for driver on the delivery appointment call. Wait what....She began to tell me that their driver had 20 orders to deliver and couldn't wait around. So from their perspective, its fine to waste my day waiting around for them but not vice versa. The call just ended up sitting silent as I waited for her to give instructions on the next steps for getting the package redelivered or explain to me the next options. After 5 mins of silence - I had to initiate questions to figure out a solution! The reply was “well there is a redelivery fee and we’ll contact you”. So now I just wait with no expected timeframe of a call to schedule the next delivery time. What type of customer service is this? I get better treatment from Indian call centers.Lets recap:1. Terrible attitude, tone, and Instantly defensive customer service rep.2. Blames customer for not giving them the instructions to call (every other delivery company has either the driver or someone call to state ETA day of delivery) but fails to state those expectations while the delivery appointment was being made.3. Lying that they she and the driver attempted to make a call.4. Ambiguous 5 hour delivery window with expectations that you burn a day from work with no communication on whether they are actually showing up that day.5. States the company's over booked deliveries for the day, impatient tone to resolve the issue, and infers that the customer is creating an inconvenience. Moreover, revealing to the customer The companies bad business practices of overbooking deliveries.6. The call had zero directive or discussion to find a solution, awkwardness of silence on the phone until you (the customer) has to ask the questions.7. The call ended with no future rescheduled date!!! Instead a “will call you back to reschedule”.8. No respect for the customer. There was notone apology or effort to resolve the delivery.Basically, R&L expects you to sit around your house all day waiting for a delivery driver, clearly state that you want a courtesy call so you have some idea when to expect the delivery, and have you work to figure out solutions.Worst customer service experience ever.

What an awesome team of professionals! I am a trucker with a different company. I had been put out of service by the nearby weigh station for being overweight on my drive axles coz the shipper loaded the freight improperly. The night manager and dock pro agreed to shift my load for me free of charge. What awesome people! Thanks a million guys!

Terrible customer service or care. After receiving an email claiming that my shipment was out for delivery, received a call later that same day claiming my shipment hadn't arrived to be delivered. They were unwilling to work with me to pick up my items at their depot, which is only a half hour drive away. I live on a small road which is inaccessible to a semi with trailer and their hours conflict with my work schedule which I had already taken the day off from work to receive my delivery at an alternate location
