Dear Valued CAPS Customers,
I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning issue regarding the warranty repair process at CAPS, which may have resulted in unfair charges for customers. If you have had equipment serviced under warranty at CAPS, you may be entitled to a refund of the inspection fee. I urge you to review your experience and consider taking action.
Based on my recent experience and discussions with other customers, it appears that CAPS has been charging an inspection fee—previously $35, though this amount may have increased—to diagnose issues with equipment submitted for warranty repairs. This fee is ostensibly to determine whether the issue is due to a manufacturing defect covered by the warranty or damage caused by user error. However, even when the repair is fully covered under warranty, CAPS does not refund this fee.
In my case, I brought in a weed trimmer for warranty service. After a prolonged wait—during which I was informed that the equipment was repaired but held until warranty approval was finalized—I retrieved my equipment. When I inquired about the inspection fee, I was told it was applied toward the repair costs. However, as the repair was fully covered by the warranty, I believe this fee should have been waived or refunded, as the issue was not caused by customer misuse. Discussions with other customers suggest this practice may be widespread, indicating a potential pattern of unfair billing.
I encourage you to:
Review any warranty repair transactions with CAPS to confirm whether you were charged an inspection fee.
Contact CAPS to request a refund of the inspection fee for any warranty-covered repairs, as this charge should arguably be covered by the warranty provider, not the customer.
Consider sharing your experience with consumer protection agencies, such as the Better Business Bureau, or seeking legal advice if you believe you have been unfairly charged.
This practice raises serious questions about transparency and fairness in CAPS’ warranty repair process. I strongly recommend reconsidering future business with CAPS and exploring alternative service providers with more equitable policies.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message. I hope this information empowers you to address any unwarranted charges and make informed decisions about your equipment servicing needs.

Do not even waste your time with this place. The automotive pats that these guys have are plated in 24k gold, and trust me you'll be paying for it. Besides the overpriced parts the chances of getting the correct part is about 1 in 7 chances. This is based on the last 3 or 4 purchases, and pun intended those will be my LAST purchases. You can try these guys out if you want but before you commit to a purchase I would strongly advise that you get a second opinion at another parts store. Firstly to make sure that your part is correct and secondly to see how much money you will be saving. I assure you that with out a doubt no matter where you check the price will be less than CAPS. CAPS= Cant Afford these Parts Sucka!

I would give this place a zero. We bought a new husqavarna riding mower from Caps of Ontario Oregon nothing but problems twice for linkage and third time for broken mandrels which they said we ran over something in the yard which we did not it was from them more than likely for loading and unloading with a hyster and not checking where forks were hitting underneath. We used ramps. We asked for new mower was told no they couldn't sell it as new. I wrote a review they responded with call us to try to resolve it. I called Vale Oregon because they own Caps in Ontario also I tried to talk to Derek but he was rude and yelling claims they called and we didn't answer the phone which is untrue. It was 6 weeks when we heard they had fixed it. Will never recommend any Caps to anyone. They need classes how to treat customers. If you go there do not ask for a new mower ask for a REFUND. Derek also told us he was done with us and if we have any more problems to take it to Woodys. This is the way they resolve problems when you call. Some owner that really does'nt care as long as he has the money.
