From the perfect 1920s satin tap pants to Murano glass slippers, books on fashion history, Venetian portrait of a Tudor lady framed in velvet, amazing estate and native American jewelry... I almost cried I was just overcome with so much joy. Only two times have I ever experienced that: looking at the Pieta in Italy, and seeing a beautiful bride and groom posing for photos on a gold-encrusted Parisian bridge. That sounds so over the top, but I loved this place that much. I'm an architecture and design writer that delights in things either small or monumental when they hit the right note.”
