“Ross near Astoria is a hidden gem for bargain hunters who don’t mind a little digging. The store is surprisingly well-stocked, especially for its size, and I’ve found everything from name-brand sneakers to quirky home decor that you’d expect to pay double for elsewhere. The layout can be a bit chaotic, but that’s half the adventure — you never know what you’ll stumble across.
The staff is low-key but helpful when asked, and checkout lines move quickly even when the place is buzzing. I’ve had better luck here than at bigger locations, which often feel picked over. If you’re patient and have an eye for deals, this Ross is worth the stop. Just don’t go in with a list — go in with curiosity.”

“I’m always surprised by the selection and quality of Short Wave’s stuff for men! From great shirts to toiletries. I love my mushroom knife/brush combo and I recently bought some shaving soap and after shave. Both are great!”
“Always love going to farmhouse funk. Denise, the owner is a wonderful gal and always has everything displayed in ways you would never think of but you always want to bring it home.”

“Such a cool little store. The name really does it justice to describe what they have.
If you are needed something unique as a gift for someone you know, I know you can find something in here!”
“Always great service if needed when asking about specific gemstones, crystals, or anything else in this category, or in store. They have always had plenty of patience for me anytime I was a customer. Great selection, some beautiful, as usual, with a variety of price points.”
“My favorite store to find gifts- whenever I'm in Astoria!
Forsythea is full of beautifully curated gems: home &garden, barware, bath/body, candles, and cool accessories.
I found the perfect gifts for my girls with Monica's help. I came into the store wearing my mask and was delighted to see she had one on as well. Having the public in and out of businesses is a risk for getting sick for visitors and employees. Kudos to you, Forsythea.
Monica also introduced me to several items that are handmade by local artists and craftsmen. Shopping local is important whenever I visit a place I love to visit. Thanks again for your help Monica. I'll see you next time I'm in Astoria, hopefully before Christmas.”
“It's a good store with a large variety of merchandise. It's a little pricey, but most items are good quality, so it's worth shopping there. Staff is friendly and helpful.”
