A nice restaurant with great history. We ate the Chicken & Waffles, made famous as Dwight Eisenhower's favorite meal, which are half price on Sundays. @SitLookDrink with beer from Corner Square Brewery based on sit.

We were in Abbottstown to get new wheels for our van at L&M. It was dinner time and we decided to stop at Altland House Grill & Pub on the way home. Excellent. We sat on the porch and had a nice relaxed time. Our server was friendly and attentive. We had the flatbread and fish and chips. The food was tasty and it was fun to watch the traffic navigating the traffic circle as we ate. The price was reasonable.

My review is a 3.9... my family and I will come back for the upstairs dining which apparently you need a reservation for.Our first experience was the downstairs bar area....I plan on coming back to leave a more detailed review... I felt the downstairs dining option isn't the true reflection of this place.

Had the crab stuffed flounder and it was delicious. But the peanut butter pie was fantastic! Good atmosphere for conversation!

Stopped by on way to Virginia. Ordered Tuna nachos, CSB Burger, and Kids cheese pizza . The appetizer was excellent and tuna fresh. My burger was more than a handful. The grandson pizza was just right. Prices reasonable and worth a stop. Detour off Rt 15 and you will not be sorry for lunch. Don’t forget the history behind this tavern since 1763 continually run.Kid-friendliness: No issues with a 3 yr old

The first time I was here the food, service, and ambiance were perfect. The waitress was attentive and we got quick refills and the bread was kept stocked. This time, the service was lackluster. The noise level was so loud I couldn't hear the other person talking to me. The food was great but not sure if I came on an off night with the other things that happened.

Wife and I stopped off for lunch while returning from Hanover on Rte 194. While it was quiet when we arrived, it soon filled up and by the time we left, the dining room and most of the bar area was full. My wife had the Hot Louisiana Chicken Sandwich while I had the Short Rib and Cheesemelt sandwich and both meals were excellent. We also consumed a couple of excellent house craft beers (Wife - John Abbot Ale; Me - Abe Goes West -a West Coast influenced IPA). Will definitely revisit the Altland House and maybe stay over next time to experience dinner and more of their great beer! Recommended!!Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible via a ramp.

Lovely dinner. Good service, though I think they were short a wait person for the number of tables booked. But it did not really slow us down at all. Only critical comment: the hose made French apple pie was a bit off. It was quite cooked through in my opinion. It was 95% there, so it was edible, and I ate it all...but it need a few more minutes in the oven to be something really special. Will return when the opportunity arise.
