Be mindful of these reviews. You get a discount if you give them a 5 star review. That being said they add service u didn’t agree to and charge you extra. My hair fell off of so bad after getting serviced at this salon. I now have to get a big chop.Service: Hairstyling

This was a wonderful experience. It was the first time I've been to a salon where they actually looked through my hair and explained different issues with my hair BEFORE even washing it. Andrea is very knowledgeable and skilled at what she does. I will definitely be back!!!!Services: Hairstyling

UPDATED:In response to the reply from the owner, I’d like to say the following:I’m not requesting a discount for your services as I never plan on returning to your salon and I left prior to my consultation starting. I am well aware that a discount on $0 is… well, zero. With that being said, thank you for confirming that there were two other clients ahead of me. I had already been waiting an hour for a color consultation, so it would’ve been a much longer wait had I stayed. This isn’t my first time getting a color consultation from a salon. It should’ve been a conversation that included my desired hair color, the stylist’s recommendations, and a patch test to determine if I had any allergic reactions to the ingredients that would be used. Also, on your MindBodyOnline website used for bookings, it states that the Hair Color Consult is $0.00 and you can pay at the time of the appointment at the salon. However, nowhere on the checkout page does it state the actual cost of the consultation. I went through my prior emails to check for the policies you spoke of, but there are none listed. Perhaps you should revisit your booking website and edit accordingly to prevent any future misunderstandings. There is no excuse for me having to wait an hour to be seen and while I appreciate your apology, it seems like this is the norm for your business given your reply. You mention that I didn’t say anything prior to leaving your salon, and that’s correct. However, you failed to mention that neither you nor the other person in your salon came back and spoke to me after the forms were filled. It would’ve been nice to have someone come back and say, “Andrea, I understand that you’ve been back here for a while, and I do apologize for the wait. You should be seen for your consultation in about ___ minutes.” There should have been some initiative shown as the business owner, especially towards a potential new client.I have my standards for what I expect from businesses and you’ve made it very clear that we won’t be a good fit together.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I wanted to like this salon, I really did. I searched for a while to find a black-owned hair salon just outside of Philadelphia and I was excited to discover AnBrea's Beauty Salon. However, my experience with them was short-lived. I went in to get a color consultation and everything seemed to be going well. The woman that greeted me at the door was friendly, and the other woman that told me which forms to sign was also friendly. The salon was clean, and the music was good.My issue is with the time I had to wait in order to be seen. My appointment was at 10:00 am, and I was told via email to be in the salon 5 minutes before. I arrived promptly at 9:55 am, and thought that I would have to wait 15-20 minutes, at most. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting for just about an hour. By the looks of it, there were two other people ahead of me, and I didn't know how much longer it would take before I would be seen. There is a policy where if a client arrives late to their appointment (I believe 25 minutes or more), it is cancelled, and they are charged a fee. I believe the same sentiment should go towards the hair stylist. If a client arrives on time for their appointment, but they have to wait over 30 minutes to be seen, they should receive a discount.Another point that confused me was that it states online that hair and color consultations were free, but I was given a price sheet that stated otherwise. It could be free for new clients, but I believe that should be stated on the sheet. It certainly did not leave a good first impression, and I ultimately ended up walking out of the salon. I had other things planned for today, and I was under the impression that a hair consultation would only be 15 minutes long, but I wasn't expecting the long wait before being seen. Unfortunately, I don't plan on returning and it's a shame because I was excited to get my consultation along with my color treatment there. It looks like my search for a new salon continues.

I came here a because I wanted to started wearing my natural hair out. These ladies were nice to me but not nice to my hair. I got a silk press and Sommer CONSTANTLY burned me with the flat irons and not just a little burn but FELT like she was grabbing and ironing my scalp to the point where I was in tears in the chair. I jumped multiple times as a reflex to the pain and she barely said sorry. My hair had a lot of dead ends and she had to cut a lot and that was fine because I just knew she was gonna style it to make it look good.... but she didn’t. There wasn’t not one curl in my hair.... it looked like a 12 year old was playing in my hair ....I left so upset because of this result....DEFINITELY wasn’t worth over $100 and all I got was a wash, condition, silk press AND STYLE. I will not be going back!

My mom was looking to book a super last minute appointment, and we were lucky they had availability, and booked an appointment the same day! Customer service was awesome. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting. Summer and Ms.Trice made my mother feel right at home. Their hands are golden, and now my mother’s hair looks and feels like silk. I’ll get selfie all week long?. Thank you!Service: Hairstyling
