Recently have moved out of Devonshire and was very disappointed with my last couple months there. After giving notice that I would be moving out, they began to show the apartment, which was to be expected and wouldn’t have been an issue if they gave me notice about bringing people over. They would give little notice and showed the apartment 6+ times in one week. I was once left a voicemail saying they were walking over to my apartment to show it with no notice and would knock just in case I was there. Luckily I was out, but if I were in the shower for example, there would be no way of knowing. I understand having to show the apartment but there needs to be more notice as it is inconsiderate of the current tenant. I emailed them with my concerns to which they replied they can enter whenever they want essentially. In addition, although it was not in the original lease agreement they expect you to pay for the carpets being cleaned and having them cleaned prior to moving out, which added to the logistics and expense of moving. During the final look through she brought up that I had a dog. The dog had not been there for the last couple months of my stay. The lady at the walk through even said she didn’t even know I had one but then claimed that she could smell dog in my apartment, leading to more money coming off the security deposit. This is after I previously paid $ as a pet fee when I applied to get the do. I also was never given the key that gives access to the main building with most of the amenities of the complex. The facilities are nice but I felt the treatment and attitude I got once I said I was moving out changed for the worse. I would warn anyone to consider that fees sometimes appear to be arbitrarily charged during the moving out process.

I lived in these apartments for 2 years and throughly enjoyed my time here. Any maintenance request was taken care of in a timely manner. When I was moving out (bought a house), we were given a checklist of everything that needed to be completed upon move out. We fulfilled the list and received the security deposit back in a timely manner. I would highly recommend these apartments. It's a quiet community and I would live here again

I strongly advise you to rent elsewhere. Poor management, who will nickel and dime to keep your security deposit (even charge for indents on carpet and require professional shampooing out of your pocket). Head manager Gina is nasty to the tenants and handles her responsibilities poorly. Some of the issues with MY unit included: Wasps/ insects and ants inside unit (with Gina skirting responsibility to remove outdoor nests and nests in second floor air conditioner), poor electrical wiring that causes lights to flicker, as well as tripping breaker anytime AC and microwave is used simultaneously, oven door that is bent and leaks heat making kitchen a sauna, no storage unit as advertised until repeated complaints due to other tenants having access to your storage/washer/dryer basement and double dipping on storage units, constantly breaking washers and dryers which will just get you a phone number to call from Gina to handle yourself if you lose too many quarters, water that goes from scalding to freezing and back at any given moment as well as poor water pressure and the complex will shut off frequently with no prior notice. I have more but I think you get the hint.

Poor business practices, renters beware!!!My father lived there for about 10 years. He moved due to his deteriorating health and memory. Over time the blinds deteriorated and were never replaced by the property management company. After we moved him we had the apartment cleaned, filled the nail holes etc… and they actually charged him $400 for the blinds and $20 for ice cube trays after being there for all those years! They should be ashamed!!! Make sure you photograph and video your apartment prior to moving in!!! Absolutely disgraceful!

So grateful I found Devonshire! Amazing apartments, caring Staff and serene surroundings. 2 pools on site, plenty of activities and walking. In the country but close to great shopping. 2 words to describe Devonshire..."They care!" A+

SCAM! Do not apply! Should of read and trusted the comments below. They take your application fee and "cannot" tell you why you've been "denied". Nothing but excuses on why they are unable to answer you a simple question.

As a residence specifically advertised for senior citizens the staff does not seem to remember that these residents have mobility issues, and many are unable to drive. Of course, social distancing is important.. HOWEVER socialization is a vital part of cognitive maintenance. I believe the weekly BINGO games should be resumed, minding social distancing, obviously. Maintenance ISSUES: regular maintenance of elevators, okay... reports of them making irregular sounds and not operating correctly goes without regard... as my own grandmother was TRAPPED in the elevator and had to use the phone inside the elevator to call for help!! This caused her so much stress I had to take her to the ER!! Another issue, my 86 year old grandmother pays to have her newspaper delivered to her door, not left at the front by the call box THREE FLOORS DOWN. Gina, a staff member, seems to have very little regard for the for the well loved family members residing at this Devonshire building.

In answer to Liz Updegrove about people asking if you lived here. Myself and another volunteer help at pool, we have had problems with people who do not belong here that try and use pool. Manager came up with ideal of sign in sheet which seemed to work well. I have lived here for 35 years and can’t say enough about this complex. The staff and office employees are the best! And I’m not just saying that for brownie points! If something needs fixing it’s dine right away. As for people that say nasty things about manager, they are so wrong. Like I said I’ve lived here a long time and they do so much with activities plus a beautiful indoor and outdoor pool and beautiful landscaping. I can’t say enough about this place I call my home. The manager and owner care about their tenants. Try looking elsewhere and see what’s including in your rent. You won’t find anything close to what they offer here!

The worst experience ever, its the kind of place that will threaten you to go to court if they didn't have it their way. When I left, they took away all of security deposit and asked me to pay extra several hundreds of dollars because they want to buy a new carpet and put it on my bill. I said I would like to speak to the manager but the woman on the phone refused and said "she has nothing to say to you. I guess will see you in court"

If you’re looking for a place to live, you will love it here at Devonshire. My wife and I have been here for over 4 years and have been happy to be here. Friendly neighbors and great service.
