I enjoyed the Comfort Suites Altoona, PA. The room and pool were nice. However, the business center didn't work and the siding in the pool was coming off. I finally got Tammy, the manager, to help me print some Christmas Letters I was trying to no avail to print. She deserves a raise. Overall, the hotel is nice and the breakfast was marvelous.

Stayed here when all State College hotels were booked or required a 2-night minimum (you can guess the reason). We were pleasantly surprised! Noon checkout was nice, the property/rooms were clean, and breakfast is included. Don't hesitate, just book it.

My wife and I stayed at Comfort Suites near Altoona for two nights and we were impressed by the hotel. We were there to visit family. The large elevator to fit our large packing & my wheelchair was convenient. The room was spacious, clean, & comfortable, with all the amenities we needed. The hotel is located off I99 in a quiet area. We woke up to the surrounding rolling hills from our window, a serene & relaxing sight that added to our experience. The free breakfast was just right for us. The staff was very friendly, helpful, & accommodating, especially the housekeepers who made sure we had everything we needed. As a person who uses a mechanical wheelchair, I appreciated the accessibility of the room and the hotel facilities. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, spacious hotel off I99 near Altoona. For wheelchair accessibility, it is underrated & deserves more recognition.Rooms: Accessible Spacious Rooms

It was late when we got there and the night auditor already got our keys ready. Breakfast foods were excellent. The swimming pool is also pretty good. My only complaint was the light outside keeps flickering and it was bothering me during my sleep since I like pitch black when sleeping. I wish I should have told them to fix it but forgot it. Overall it was a good stay.Rooms: The room has a couch and a sofa, microwave and fridge.

July 2022 stayOther than location (have to hit the freeway to find restaurants, gas and shops), the hotel was super clean, quiet (we had connecting rooms booked with our kids and pup) and the staff were outstanding! We would stay here again. Great rooms as well! Very large and comfy.Aug 2023 stayWe stayed here again and unfortunately this hotel isn't aging well. The hallways and stairwells are dirty and smell bad. We requested connecting rooms, didn't get them. We were dropped in Room 218 right above the Lobby and we could hear everything in the lobby....conversations, noises from luggage or whatever. Fortunately the jet engine HVAC fan in the room was able to drown out the noise. The tub is showing wear. There was someone else's pubic hair on the back of our toilet when we checked in and on one of the face cloths. Our kids were in Room 201 and their ceiling was showing signs of water damage or wear.Breakfast was good again, clean and plentiful and the rooms are spacious. We likely won't be back as there are Hilton/Hampton and Marriott brand hotels in the area.

Clean, comfortable beds and quiet. Staff was friendly, breakfast was the typical free stuff you get at most budget hotels. Out of the way for restaurants, most seemed to be about a nine mile drive away.

We stayed here for a night after we went to a wedding in the area. Outwardly, it looked nice, but it was different when we go in the room. The room had a strange odor that bothered my husband. Not sure if it was a cleaner or what the smell was. The door on the bathroom looked like someone tried to bang down the door. In the bathroom, there was a large crack through several tiles. The counter top and shower surround were beautiful. The "hot breakfast" was a bit of a joke. I don't know if it was because of COVID or what the deal was. Everything was microwaveable. There was 1 microwave for everyone eating breakfast. We will not be staying here again. The front desk was not friendly or helpful. The hotel was not enforcing CDC guidelines and this was before the mask restrictions were lifted.
