CVS Pharmacy in Altoona has great employees that work as a team. They are compassionate and care about their customers. If they do not know the answer the staff finds the answer.

More than a couple of prescription medications that I needed to find out about when I changed health care provider & experience with the fact that I was able to save money in the store itself as well.

I don't wish to stand in long line, & do not wish to utter name & date of birth in front of the crowd. Even when some refill is ready I don't get notice. The pharmacy location is in very difficult place to get in & out.

My family switched from this local CVS Pharmacy for numerous reasons (too many to mention in this review), but the main reason is due to poor customer service by a particular Pharmacy staff member by the name of Michelle (on several occasions I might add). She is very ignorant, rude, and will hang up on you. I did report the issue with her in the past to the kind pharmacist who was going to speak to her, but his conversation with her obviously didn’t resonate with her because she’s still nasty! My friend recently had an encounter with what she called a very rude pharmacy staff member, and I said, let me guess, her name was Michelle! She checked her receipt, and sure enough, it was! Surprise, surprise! I strongly feel if she is that miserable in her job answering phones and dealing with the public, maybe customer service is NOT the best place for her. I’m sure I’m not the only customer who’s had negative encounters with her. Hopefully someone of authority will read this and address her once again. You’re losing valuable, long-time customers like me, as my family has been doing business with you for well over 20 years!!!!! Thank you for reading my post.

I just recently switched from Rite Aid to CVS because my family goes there-Big Mistake!! I have two refills that were due on Christmas Day, December 25th, but the pharmacy is closed for Christmas Day. The two medications, One is called Plavix, which is a blood thinner that I CANNOT go without, so CVS decided to give me my blood thinner December 23th, which worked out , but the 2nd medication I need is called Temazepam 15mg, it is a controlled substance, but I know they give me 3 or sometimes 4 days in advance, So they will not fill my Temezapam until the 26th, which is a day later than last month. I don’t have my sleeping pill for two days simply because these Pharmacists are on some power trip.and/or displaying themselves as Physicians. If I go on and have a seizure, I’m going to file complaint against whomever is canceling my refill. If this issue is not rectified promptly, I’m going back to Rite Aid and take my family with me, and I will tell everyone I know that they should not go to that CVS, and I will them what happened to me….. I really hope that this issue is looked at and dealt with promptly. Thank You, Lorrie Shaw

The pharmacy staff here are not only miserable human beings but extremely incompetent at that. You should all just give up at this point— you contribute nothing to society.

I was supposed to be able to have a prescription filled at the end of last week and they never got it filled til today and it was because of an error in their system that they failed to correct!! I gave them the number for the pharmacy techs Friday evening and they never called them til a week later. They are a joke of a pharmacy and I got a different story from three different employees as to why it couldn’t be filled just totally unprofessional and ridiculous. They didn’t care about my suffering or pain. It shouldn’t take a week to remove an error off their system! Simple as this people weren’t doing their jobs properly.

On Thursday I ordered my prescription. The pharmacy said it would be available by noon on Thursday. When I arrived at the pharmacy I was told the prescription could not be filled. Their reason was their order came in on Wednesday, but because the employees hours were cut, they didn't have time to unpack the order. I am leaving town for the weekend and will return on Monday. I fortunately have just enough of my medication to get me through Monday. At no time did I get an email saying the prescription would be delayed. It was listed as "out of stock" on my account. I feel the very least that should have been done was to receive a text or email explaining the situation. I have been a loyal CVS customer for many years, but there are many other pharmacies that would welcome my business.

Very unprofessional messed up my prescription twice. I can understand they are busy. When my insurance company called and a three-way call. The lady who answered I'm assuming the manager was so ignorant and rude. When she hung up the agent from the insurance company which is a CVS insurance company was appalled in apologetic for her actions. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Every time I used the drive up window they took forever and acted as if I was bothering them.

Easy access. Sometimes wait times if busy. Reliable service. Convenient drive through.
