“Recently had a weekend stay at this Microtel. The location is good, parking was more than adequate, desk service help was attentive to our needs, even with a reservation issue that was resolved. The room was efficiently laid out, of a good size with their trademark windows seat, a decent bathroom arrangement (sufficient water pressure and a fan), and overall met our needs. The breakfast included egg omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy, along with cereal and fruit. High marks were given for the fresh baggels and pretty good coffee which came out of a machine. Our only issues were electrical plugs for charging our devices were loose and had intermittent contact. Overall, a good stay and a pleasant value.”

“I had absolutely no problem here at this spot. The staff are great people. Just watch out for customers like old white men asking you questions why are you there. But the hotel ”

“great place to go and kick back. cold beer and a older crowd with none of B.S that comes with loud crowd. Sirius 70s and 80s music that you can still talk to people around you while watching sports on TV. Washer pits outside and pick up teams are throwing every day. Smoking permitted. [email protected]

“When we arrived the check in process took 20 min with all of the people and a shortage of staff. We were told not to rearrange furniture which was odd, considering when we arrived in the room, the second bed was pushed right up to the side of the wall, so I could not get into the bed. Also on the side of the bed closest to the wall there were breadcrumbs and what looked like nuts on the floor. This was in room 304, and appeared like it was from the previous guests.Sleeping against the wall, my feet were right up against the air conditioner which made your feet freezing, not very smart. There was no maid service during our stay so we had to use the same towels and rags which was not ideal after tailgating and going to a game all day.The breakfast was subpar with few options. Overall it wasn't worth $500 for 2 days for a single room, even with demand from the college football game.I would avoid this hotel for future visits considering the cost and lack of amenities/service.”

“I recently stayed at the Altoona Grand Hotel. The outside is a bit deceiving. The pictures of this hotel do not reflect the beauty of this hotel. The poolside rooms where we stayed are fabulous with a door that opens directly to the indoor heated pool with floor to ceiling views of the pool. The pool area looks like a tropical island with a stained glass ceiling. The entire hotel is beautiful. I wish there was a hotel like this in or near Durham NC, I would check in once a month for a stay-cation especially in the winter to relax and enjoy the pool.Unfortunately I did not stay long enough to try the restaurant but if it is as nice as the rooms, employees and the rest of the hotel, it has to be as nice. The staff at this hotel were warm, friendly and helpful when needed.Rooms: Rooms are very clean and comfortable but would have liked a walk in shower. This is not a complaint just a suggestion. This would be my #1 choice if I visit Altoona again. I would not stay anywhere else!!Walkability: Shopping is right across the street!Noteworthy details: This is a fabulous event hotel.”

“I have came across this place while I am driving for my college from Columbus to Harrisburg for my school. It it at very convenient location for me and at best price. The best part I like was the service and fantastic service provided by the staff and the owners. :)Looking forward to visit every time while I am travelling for my school to stay overnight. !!Rooms: Room was clean and quite with free WiFi and with breakfast, can’t ask more than this feels like owner are into servicing others instead of business lol ?Safety: Ask for staff to Rome around natural waterfall nearby.”
