M&T could improve by firing all of its employees and hire people who actually care... I hate it that I have NO choice in having them as my Mortgage company. They bought my loan from someone else who had a great reputation in customer service... can't really refinance because two things... 1. Interest rates are higher now then when I bought the house... 2. MTB could always buy the loan back... unreal... this people are IDIOTS!

Absolute worst customer service ever. If I could give 0 stars I would. I work in customer service so it takes a lot for me to write a bad review for a company. My good friend had his account locked by M&T for no reason. After numerous times of going to the bank and calling corporate this account is still locked. This has been happening since May 31. One of the worst banks I ever did business with its not even funny. You would think for a small bank they would accommodate their customers. Nope! Only have a problem with you when you want to withdraw your money or you have a large amount. Tried to increase my atm withdrawal limit they couldn't but they blocked my online banking and debit card!!! Can't be unblocked unless I visit a branch after I told them I'm out the country for the next month.

My mortgage is with them and I'm trying to save my house after I got screwed by trying to do a work out. 2 lawyers later, I'm so far into the hole but want this house more than anything for my daughter to grow up here. I've been thru hell, I lost my dad, 2 babies, my aunt, my best friend, 3 close friends, and cousins in a 3 year span along with my daughters mom leaving. My father and I built my home and it's on my families farm right near my mom and I'm an only child. Wont let me make payments for past 4 months. I've been thru enough, I just want help , real help to save my home. Its sickening

I really regret going with this bank for my loan. I was suckered into using in-house financing & got this bank. Lessons learned. I'm currently seeking to take a loss & move on to an American bank who we can trust & restore my faith in humanity. Do not recommend….

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The walk-in Bank in Old New Castle in New Castle, Delaware. The rudest, most incompetent people I've ever seen. Not one person smiles. The last time I was there this woman who I assume was the manager but it could have just been a teller spoke horribly to an older man. What he was asking for wasn't something they could give him but a kind explanation would have been the right thing to do. Instead she said"if you would just stop talking so I can tell you why we can't do it. NEVER EVER DO YOUR BANKING AT THIS HORRIBLE BANK. LAZY EMPLOYEES WITH NO WORK ETHIC. THAT'S MY OPINION.

I opened an account with your bank and you didn't even get my name right. How could someone make mistake in something this important? Now I am having so much trouble accessing my account online, or making any payment. On top of that, you have customer care representatives who are amazingly rude. I talked to Ben, employee code - MC3992. You should teach that guy how to be nice with people.

Just left the bank in Nottingham MD at 430 pm. Worst customer service ever I signed in at the front they let me sit there for 40 minutes no one ever approached me or told me that there would be a particular wait time so I finally approached one of the women and she told me that everyone else is on lunch break and it would be another 30 minute wait and then she acted annoyed that I interrupted her with a customer which I did not want to do but they never even acknowledged my p

I would give 0 stars if I could. I've had a checking account and a savings account for ten years here. I am on vacation out of state and my debit card was closed due to out of state / irregular activity per the customer service representative I spoke with on the phone. I inquired about getting a new debit card overnighted to me while on vacation (or even reactivating the card sitting in my wallet...) and I was told that M and T bank doesn't overnight cards, and the soonest they would get me one would be 2 business days. Unacceptable when Fedex and UPS offer “next day air with Saturday delivery†options. I'll be closing my account next week and taking all of my banking elsewhere.
