So I walked into the bank, to attend to some affairs, and as I was getting a deposit slip, I came across this sign. Now, I suck at remembering holidays (I spent a majority of’em deployed so I kinda blocked’em out to get through my time easier…but I digress) so I asked the teller: “what holiday is [The Holiday]?” The teller responded smiling: “it’s [Indigenous People Day]”. I smiled and said: ”Thank you…(but then it clicked and I said)…wait…why is it being referred to as [The Holiday] instead of [Indigenous Peoples Day]?”. The teller frowned and replied: “Management felt that it was too problematic to explain what it was to customers who may inquire. I disagree but, it’s what management has put out. Since it can’t be Columbus Day anymore, they’d just rather refer to it as [The Holiday].”I stood there for like 10secs flabbergasted, and said: “Jesus, your management team is ethnically insensitive af!”The teller nodded in agreement, and I walked out. Interestingly though on the bank’s front door was the sign but written on that one was “Closed for [Columbus Day]” and not [The Holiday]

The worst experienced, she didn’t give me my account number, just a recipe, you open an account in other bank and they give you all the information and a temporal card. She said that they are going to send my card by mail and I have to wait 5 to 10 days to receive it, I will close this account.

Been doing business here forever, removing all my money today. It's not a lot but I happened to log in today to see I was charged $10 a month for the last 4 months for "Inactivity" So I am done. ANY bank that has the balls to charge you a fee for anything is NOT a good bank. I have "inactive" accounts as they are described with online banks and a Credit union with NO fees ever. So I am finished with this bank. I will stick with online banks and my Credit Union. I stopped today to close my account and remove my money, the teller didn't ask why,. To me that's very odd, any business would ask why you were leaving. So I mentioned to her " I am closing it because for 4 months you have been charging me $10 inactivity fee, and I never received any notification via mail or email" her response was very uninterested, didn't care. She just said "You should have, here is your money, sign here" So take my experience however you want but this is not a good bank to do business with...

This bank is shady don't do business with them!!! I've had to report them to the better business bureau. I have a personal loan with them and when I tried to pay it off the stated it's my fault that the account information I gave them was incorrect when in fact it's their phone lines that skip while talking. They continue to charge me interest on my loan while they "looked into it". They also messed up my credit while they were supposedly looking at the issue. They did NOT call back when they stated they would which caused the payment to be "late" which accumulated more interest even though I tried to handle this situation long before payment was even due. They refuse to allow customers to speak to a manager and their customer service representatives shouts at you and will try to talk over you. I am warning everyone not to do business with this company.

They treat me like I don't matter to them. Insignificant and I pay enough to get treated with respect.

poor. doing business with this branch since it was Pioneer American bank, and the original Carbondale Bank. manager treated us like we were criminals knowing we are stock holders as well. change isn't always a good thing when the little guy that invested his hard earned money that helped establish the institution gets treated like a stranger. sad to say now a customer at a rival bank that treats us like family. guess we're not wealthy nor important enough for NBT. you forgot where you came from and the people who got you started. shameful.
