I came here on a cold rainy day and had the coziest experience. The service was wonderful and they offer complimentary iced barley tea. I ordered the shrimp yakisoba and it was the perfect meal for that weather! I was so hungry I didn’t think to snap photos but maybe next time (because I shall return!).

This is Japanese food made by Japanese people. It's perfect for rejuvenating your stomach when you're tired from eating all the American food!

It's always fun to impulse buy candy and snacks from here, along with their skincare and stationary. Their selection of products is pretty good as well. Really reliable if I need to purchase anything spices or sauces to make japanese food, this is the best place in the area. Their restaurant area has amazing food and they have some bakery items as well. The only place I can find melon bread around here! Although it's packaged and not fresh it's still very tasty.

Maido is amazing! One half has groceries and treats imported from Japan. The other side is a restaurant where you can order Japanese comfort food, which is Delicious!

I have to say first and foremost, even better than the food, is the friendly service. The woman at the front was so kind and patient with us while we ordered, so much good food it was hard to choose. I eventually chose the pork katsu and my goodness was it flavorful. The cutlet was the perfect form of crispy and juicy and the curry put it all together. Definitely a warm and comforting meal worth the trip to Ardmore to enjoy. The little convenience store on the other side is also a plus. Was able to pick up some staples like togarashi and hon tsuyu for the home. Love this place. Thanks to everyone who works here! You all are awesome!

Remarks are for the Marketplace. The reason for the 4 and not a 5 is that there is no signage in English to assist with what products are used for or with. It was great exploring. However, I love to cook and try new things but would need to google the products or have an interpreter.

Great market and made to order food. Some items at the market are definitely overpriced compared to places like H Mart (for the same item). The made to order food is pretty good but also slightly overpriced.

Maido is a wonderful microcosm of Japan in a market. The best! They have all kinds of traditional Japanese foods and wares, along with a countertop restaurant. One of my favorite treats is to wrap kinako mochi in fresh shiso leaves and hot off the grill okonomiyaki. If you can't find street parking, just go a few blocks to the Cricket Garage.

The staff is rude and the “rules” are ridiculous. I walked in and sat down with my 7 year old, menu in hand to order. A staff shooed us off the table and said we cannot sit until we order. All the other tables are taken. I asked her what if I order I have my food in my hand and have nowhere to sit with my seven year old and she didn’t seem to care at all. She said rules are rules. What is this a regime or a restaurant? She could not answer my question. With the many choices we had at hand- Bam Bam Korean , DonBuri Ardmore next door and Golden China across the street, I left immediately and showed my child to never give business to people that are unreasonable and disrespectful who care more about their rules than service in a restaurant, esp when clearly those rules are made to avoid loiterers not a mom with a kid ready to order. We ended up with a wonderful lunch across the street where they make their duck fresh and they are friendly.

They have all types of delicious snacks and Japanese style decorations and stuffies. Love to stop in and buy snacks the prices are up but with them being imported it makes sense . A great place to shop for Japanese snacks and other food you can't find anywhere else

It's pretty nice. They have a small stationary section but it's all pretty expensive and it's nothing much. They also have japanese & asian food on their shelves or in fridges (like dango, which I find to be overrated btw) and usually a small stand at the fromt with sanrio items. I got an $18 kuromi keychain and $41 cinnamoroll plush from here in 2022, they're both good quality but very expensive. (But then again, it's sanrio merch.)They also serve food there that's pretty decent. I've had better food, and there might be better places nearby to get it but it was pretty good. The pricing was pretty average I'd say.

The marketplace is great, but the food is also fantastic. After living in Japan for 9 months, Maido is the only best authentic Japanese comfort food I've run into.
