I was treated at Pivot recently after knee surgery and am so glad. Scheduling is so easy with Diane or Kathy. They will even arrange courtesy rides if needed. Nikki and Cydney really understood my condition and lifestyle and customized my therapy. Everyone in the Aston location was helpful and easy to be around. Great results, dedicated staff, custom programs and convenience, too.

I was very happy with my experience at Pivot. The atmosphere there is a very happy, positive social place. It's as if life, struggles, pain, or regret hasn't affected this small section of the world. If you could transpose the sunny disposition of a puppy into a work environment, it would be Pivot Physical Therapy. From what I precieved, being a physical therapist is a good career choice. All of the workers appear to have enough disposable time, money and energy, to regularly go to the gym, attend sporting events, and travel outside of the country. From a therapy point of view, everyone appears to be well educated. My therapist was John. He seemed to know all the muscles that we were targeting. For me personally it appears that I have excessively tight muscles connecting my lower back to my right hip. The first 15 minutes of each appointment was kneading out those muscles. Which was great. They give you a pain ranking questionnaire at the beginning and end of your therapy to see if the activities improved your condition. In highnsite, I am glad my insurance required me to do physical therapy.... However, our healthcare system is totally broken and doing physical therapy was against my will. What I wanted was an MRI of my lower back and hip. My insurance denied this claim. It is considered not medically necessary. Everything else is to cater to the payment conditions of the insurance company, not the treatment of the patient (me). First I was told that the only pre-requesite to getting the MRI was that I had to see a Orthopedic back specialist. This was a lie. The truth is that you have to convince the specialist that you are unable to continue living without the MRI. Then the specialist has to prove to the insurance corporation that the MRI is medically necessary, because they have exhausted all other options. This involves an X-ray of the area involved. Follow by a $1030.00 evaluation of that X-ray by a specialist. Then without definitive proof of need from the X-ray, you are required 4 weeks of physical therapy. And the specialist...will not share the X-ray or there evaluation with the physical therapist. They have to come up with there own independent conclusion that you can not continue living without this MRI.Next I have to do a follow up consultation with the specialist again. ..but in our broken system, the specialist doesn't get access to the evaluation notes of the physical therapist. So.. only maybe, depending on how well I describe my desperation to the specialist on this 2nd go around, I will be granted the privilege of being allowed to go recieve the MRI Scan.My analysis of this whole thing... Is that me or my health doesn't actually matter in this scenario. The Health care industry is the product and the Health Insurance company is the customer. I am just a pawn used as leverage needed to charge health insurance.corp 10x the realistic cost of services.Imaging and testing should be step one in the diagnostic tool bag. How bizarre. We choose to to distort common sense and reason.. because we choose to have a 10,000% profit margin on the cost of an MRI.We choose to determine need of the MRI via physical therapy and multiple visits to a specialist. When the MRI should determine need of the specialist and multiple visits to physical therapy.Anyway, I expect to be back at Pivot soon enough because I still want an MRI on my shoulder, knee, upper back, and neck.1 MRI on 5 locations of your body... About $900,000 dollars, 200 visits to physical therapy, and 18 visits to specialist. ?I hope they come up with a cure for ageing so that I have enough time to complete the physical therapy requirements.
