I was there that weekend. That guy was on some really hard drugs, he assaulted 2 people, destroyed a new pick up truck, and a tent then walked off. They found him face down In the creek the next day. What was the festival supposed to do about it??

I deeply value my craft and the experiences I provide, and it's crucial for me to uphold certain standards. Regrettably, after careful consideration of a series of concerns, I've made the difficult decision to rate the 2023 Austin Dam Show with just 1/5 stars due to issues of inaccessibility, unsafe conditions, a distinct lack of event staff, and poor communication.Right from the outset, there were noticeable organizational issues that cast doubt on the event's readiness and professionalism. Communication was muddled, leaving us vendors perplexed about essential logistics. To add to the confusion, it wasn't always clear if the individuals guiding participants were even officially part of the event.Upon arriving at the event site, I was disheartened to find my booth situated far away from the main attractions. This unfortunate placement significantly impacted visibility and foot traffic. Nevertheless, I managed to forge valuable connections with fellow vendors in neighboring booths, reminding me that sometimes, challenges can lead to unexpected, positive interactions. However, what solidified my decision was the unforeseen transformation of the designated vendor area into a parking lot for bands. While I understand the logistical need for loading and unloading, this abrupt shift placed vendors who had invested in the event in an unfavorable position. I firmly believe that events should respect and honor vendors' commitment and contributions. After the initial confrontation with Rich, the main coordinator, in front of the performance where my concerns could barely get his attention, I sent an email voicing my issues. Unfortunately, the response I received felt one-sided and left me disheartened. It's particularly disheartening to note that, during this time, they were actively posting on social media, encouraging attendees to send any concerns to their email. The contrast between their public encouragement for communication and their silence on my concerns is indeed deafening. As someone from Potter County, where this event was held, my disappointment runs deep. I've made the choice not to attend this event, either as a vendor or a visitor, as long as Rich Hadfield is in charge. It's my sincere hope that this review contributes to the improvement of future events and the safety and satisfaction of all participants.

Absolutely disgusted with how the tragic death of a young promising musican was handled at the Austin Dam Show. Not only should the safety of festival goers be guaranteed, but the performers lives as well. Comments made by event organizers after the fact were very tone deaf and unforgiving. Be better humans.0 out of 5 stars.

Unsafe (little to no identifiable security), lack of empathy from event coordinator when people were assaulted and a tragedy occured on the grounds, not well lit or monitored. The coordinator says something along the lines of "the mayor of the town attends and takes care of incidents as they occur". The mayor is not a security guard or law enforcement and to place responsibility on them is just as irresponsible as most of your other actions. The vendors, most patrons, and bands were great however I think most of them would be unsettled about returning due to a lack of preparation and safety. Please, anyone who knows anything about Shae call the PA State Troopers.

Safety is not a priority here. No proper security for a large event, which resulted in an absolute tragedy happening this year. After the tragedy, the Austin Dam Show did not have any mention of the tragedy, no condolences to Shae Ebners family or friends, they rather stated it was a “great weekend”. There was nothing great about that weekend, and that weekend will continue to affect so many lives, even if the Austin Dam Show refuses to acknowledge and actually believe it.#JusticeForShae

The first time I was at the show was 2019 the fifty year anniversary of Woodstock, all the bands that played were absolutely superb. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like family. I will be back this year.
