Nice smaller local airport. Very clean, and newly renovated. There are 8 gates. Security was very smooth, especially if you are using TSA Pre.There are few food/drink amenities, consisting of a bar, Dunkin and a store/gist shop.Parking is easy...both covered and uncovered parking. There is no short or long term parking difference, and both are located immediately adjacent to the terminal.

Very nice facilities, newer than I thought, more modern than I thought. Only flew once so I don't know where.flights go but seem to have a lot of flights to Charlotte and Chicago

Absolutely beautiful small regional airport. Finest construction materials were used and it is architecturally stunning. The staff are very pleasant giving the facility a local vibe. Luzerne and Lackawana county taxpayers money well spent.

We were coming back to the area to visit family and decided to use this airport for the first time. The airport was clean and all the staff was very friendly and polite. Going through TSA was fast and they were the nicest TSA workers I've ever experienced. Would recommend this airport to anyone.

This airport is a hidden gem. Updated, clean, friendly counter and TSA staff. Easy parking. Currently serves Newark, Chicago and Charlotte. Hopefully more connections coming soon!

I know that not everyone who travels is polite to airport employees! But the TSA staff working on the morning of 10/4/23 should all be replaced!!!!I got to the airport at 830, the A/A employee who checked my bag was amazing. I go upstairs and head to the TSA line and a guy says we aren't open yet. So I stand there for about 10 min and then he says you might as well find a seat we don't open for about an hour, we will announce it.So around 915, I see 6 people walk into the line. So I walk over the only 1 in the TSA line, and the girl takes all 6 people in the regular line 1st. Then the guy says we have a TSA PRECHECK, the lady says I'll get over there in a second, just to walk through the scanner.Too early in the am to be rude and treat people the way they did.

Quick and easy, usually get there around an hour before our flight, only takes minutes to get through TSA and it's a short walk to the departing area of the airport. Save on time, tolls, and gas, plus the aggravation of dealing with traffic. When you factor everything up it's a no-brainer!!

If I could give zero stars we would. Had an absolutely awful experience here at this airport. We rented a cat and parked our truck there overnight when we came back to pick it up we noticed our lid for the toolbox on back was wide open and somebody had pryed into it. We went to security and they told us we were screwed because we were out of camera view. We explained we were not paying for "secured parking" if our stuff was broken and broken into but they made us pay regardless and didn't even try to help us figure out anything. Worst experience ever. Won't be back.

I’ve been through this airport 3 times in the last 4 years and have had good experiences as I was just passing through but when I flew home on Friday 6/9/2023 I actually had an interaction with a woman who checked me into my flight. I’m transgender, with saying that I’ve had interactions that have negatively impacted me, and it’s unsettling. So when I needed to hand her my ID, I also included my work badge since it has an updated photo, she acknowledged my name, and she just said a simple statement of “I’m for it”. Her smile, personality was welcoming and most importantly safe!My second interaction was when I was going through security, the woman who was verifying my ticket saw that I’m not the average citizen and she said “Respectfully what would you feel comfortable with-Blue or Pink?” She also kept her tone down to respect my privacy. I really wasn’t sure what to expect this time around but I was impressed by the two women who I had brief interactions with. I was impressed, happy and also relieved. I flew in the morning of 6/4/2023, I didn’t see any pride flags when I first arrived, and that made me extra hypervigilant. I hope within the coming years that will change because “All are welcome”.

It’s always easy to fly out of this airport. It’s rather small so not much wait time in lines. In fact, rarely ever a line to wait. Not a great selection of food but at least coffee is available. Alcoholic beverages available but the place to purchase them is on very limited hours. The airport doesn’t have a great amount of flights daily so chances of a place being open on an early or late flight is most likely not happening.

Nice airport, could use additional coverage in the rental car area. Nothing like getting soaked trying to find your rental car. Lol

Welcome Back to Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton. Frequent Flyers know most airports have a welcome sign somewhere between the exit gate and baggage claim. This airport is the only instance where the sign includes the word “back”. It does not bother to pretend arriving travelers are visitors or tourists. The sign makes it obvious that the vast majority passengers are returning home from a trip to somewhere better. Kudos to them for honesty.

Such a nice, small well run airport. I believe there are only 8 gates. There always seems to be plenty of parking. And the prices seem very reasonable. The garage, which is attached to the airport, is $14/day currently. There is only one store/coffee shop, which is open super early in the morning. It's a Duncan. It includes a bar but I have never seen the bar open because I have been there in the morning. There never seems to be much time to get through security. Which makes this part of why I love such a small airport.Unfortunately, this airport doesn't do direct flights to very many places and that's probably the biggest downfall. But that's mostly due to COVID from what I have been told. But that's not the fault of this nice airport.

AVP is a very tiny airport which is great because it is never crowded. It is absolutely clean & they care for thoroughly. The parking is either outside or garage parking. There is plenty of room to park alongside the front of you're dropping someone off at the airport, so that's always nice. There are several car rental places, very helpful for travelers. Plenty of stores inside past the TSA.The only issue I have with AVP is is it always seems expensive to fly out of. So I end up going to Philly to catch a plane.Overall it is a nicely kept airport with lots of places to eat or LL bottle convenient stores to get this or that.

I flew into this airport yesterday afternoon. I picked up my luggage from baggage claim, walked out the door, put it in the empty trunk of the car, and drove 1.5 hours to my destination. Upon arriving at my destination and taking the suitcase out of the trunk, I realized American Airlines had destroyed my suitcase with a huge dent in the corner of the hardshell.I spent an hour calling the airport and trying every menu option available to talk to a person. There was no one answering a phone anywhere at the airport.I submitted an online contact form regarding the damaged bag. This morning I received a voicemail and followup email from Robert Exeter. No indication in his email who he was, no contact information, no signature line, no job title. His voicemail did start with him informng me that I submitted an online form that goes to airport admins and that was wrong, airport admins don't deal with this, it has nothing to do with them, I shouldn't have submitted a from to them. Obviously a disrespectful, unintelligent, inappropriate way to address a customer or anyone ever.He then told me the damage has to be reported before I leave the airport.I responded to him via email with American Airlines policy of reporting before you leave the airport or within 24 hours. He responded by telling me he couldn't help because I have to report it within24 hours (the policy I just told him because he stated it to me I correctly). I am 1.5 hours away, so no, I am not driving my suitcase back to the airport. Sent photos of the damage. ALSO, he can't help me because it has to be within 24 hours. It's currently 17 hours right now. He has my flight info. I can't think of anything less intelligent to tell a customer than that. This is dumbfounding and ridiculous. What a terrible airport experience to be scolded for trying to resolve an issue caused by the airline and airport personnel. How disrespectful and terrible to expect a customer they to drive back to the airport after you destroyed their property.Additionally, I later received a response to my general contact form submission found publicly on the airport's website for PUBLIC USE. I was again informed that I had contacted airport administration and that was wrong of me. I did something wrong by submitting an inquiry through the "contact us" form. As if a customer is supposed to know from a general contact form who it is internally directed to. If you have a general contact form for inquiry, you respond professionally with a solution, not tell your customers they shouldn't use it. Since the form and auto response appeared to be something a 7th grader could have created in computer class, I guess expectations of professionalism were too high. It wouldn't have been necessary at all if after an hour of dialing the airport and trying all menu options, any live person working at the airport answered the phone at all.
