1758 is a "fair trade" store that's affiliated with Ten Thousand Villages. Everything in the store was created by artisans from developing countries with some items being hand-made in the US. Along the items when I visited were jewelry, clothes, candle holders, lip gloss, spices, and greeting cards. Every item tells you where it was made with many telling the story of the makers. I love the idea of Fair Trade, but I also love being able to buy or gift something that's unique and not available in every Walmart in America. I would suggest stopping by this store if you ever need that perfect gift.

Beautiful variety of items that are fair trade. I have purchased several gifts over the years from here.

This shop has so much beautiful artwork, from jewelry and handbags to decorative items and furniture. I bought a handbag made from reeds; the bags are made by women who have been rescued from trafficking. I also bought a couple of woodwork items, including a turtle and the 'party animals,' which have already been quite a conversation piece.

Found a lovely teapot and a necklace for my wife here. Eclectic in a good way. A little pricey relative to the surrounding shops, but that's fair trade for you!

Met a wonderful saleswoman who is very passionate about the cause of fair trade. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was especially fascinated about the jewelry and the stories behind them. I will definitely be back.
