I took my mother's wedding dress here to be redesigned as a custom dress for my rehearsal dinner. I knew it would be a long shot but when I brought it to Anne she said she would think about how to make the changes and ask her colleague. I told her even if it was decided that she couldn't make the changes, it is ok just let me know. She kept the dress. She didn't get back to me. I had to call her multiple times to ask how things were coming along. She kept telling me she was trying to see how to make the adjustments. She never called me back, it was always me calling. Sometimes she spoke as though she didn't remember who I was or which dress/project was mine. Finally the rehearsal date was coming up and when I called she told me I never told her when the date was. I told her I would come to get the dress from her. At this point it was too late for me to even bring it to someone else to do the adjustments. When I went by to the shop to get the dress back it was open and I could hear the TV on in the back but when I called out to say hello she never came to the front. I saw my dress on the rack near the door (no harm no foul) and took it and left. It was a very unorganized, poor communication and unfortunate situation. I guess I am just happy I got the dress back. I told her I wouldn't have even been upset if she tried an alteration and it didn't work out. When else would I use a dress from the 90's? It is too bad. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.

I had my wedding dress alterations done here. I got an appointment very quickly, Anne was kind and helpful. The alterations were done expertly and very fast! David’s bridal told me it would take months and hundreds of dollars. Anne did it in a couple weeks and was very reasonable with her pricing. She told me she’s been sewing for 34 years, I felt like I was in very good hands.

Wish I was able to say nice things about this place but I cannot. Told her not to cut my prom dress to short so that it would still lay on the ground and she cut the entire train off and cut it up to my ankle height. Will not be getting my business ever again.

Now that my sister's wedding is over, I finally made time to sit and write this review. Do NOT go to Fashions by Anne. This place was highly recommended by others (I don't know why). Immediately when I arrived, the seamstress was looking for another man's pants and saying to herself over and over again that she didn't remember where she put them... already a great start. My sister's wedding was in October and I was her maid of honor. I brought my dress in and asked for the bottom to be hemmed and the straps to be shortened a little bit so that my chest was not falling out. I was measured and told it would not be a problem and that there was plenty of time. I went back the following week on my pick up date for the dress and was told that it was not done because the tag fell off and she did not know whose it was. I was upset that I had not received a call and that she was so quick to lose my tag. She said I still had enough time that she was able to fix it so I walked away hopeful. When I came back a couple days later, I tried the dress on and could barely breathe. The straps were shortened a lot more than we had discussed and the dress hem where my chest was supposed to be was way too high. I told her that I could not breathe and she told me that it was okay and that she could easily take the dress out a few inches, so once again I left hopeful. After several days, I did not receive a call that anything was wrong so I had assumed that my dress was ready and went to pick it up a couple days later on the date I was given. When I arrived, I was told that there was nothing that could be done about the dress. I was very mad and questioned why I was not called if she could not do anything about it because I could have taken it somewhere else. The seamstress then started to argue with me, telling me that no one else could have done anything because the dress just did not fit me because I was too big. Keep in mind that I was on a diet and was losing weight. I responded saying that the dress fit me properly when I brought it in. The seamstress told me that there's nothing she can do about it and that I owe her $60. As she was getting a dress bag, I noticed how terribly sewn it was and how part of the string on the arm strap was coming loose and so I told her. She then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and I must have been pulling on the string, because it wasn't like that before. I was livid but I paid and walked away because I don't like confrontation. My mistake. However, when I got home to try the dress on, I was poked in my stomach by a sewing needle that was sewn into the hem of the dress. My fiancé went back with me to confront her about it and she proceeded to say that she did not place the needle there and told me that I had done it. My fiancé had some choice words for her and she told us that we needed to get out of her establishment and then proceeded to call the police on us. All I can say is that I have never felt so disrespected by a business owner and I do not think she deserves to run a business. She is beyond rude. She seemed to be unable to keep track of anything and try to put all of the blame on me for her mistakes. I do not like how the situation was handled and I strongly recommend that you do not give Fashions by Anne your business.

I had a lovely experience with Anne. Reasonably priced for a bridesmaid dress alteration. She gave me a date to come back and get the dress and adhered to it. She not only took off length but also shortened the sleeve length, which is a complicated alteration, so that it wasn’t too lose. Overall, Anne was sweet, professional & provided a great service.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Anne altered my entire wedding dress in 7 days. She lifted it at the shoulders, hemmed it, and bustled it. Her detail was incredible and she never bat an eye at how quickly I needed it done. She was very affordable for the work I had her due, and again, how fast she made it happen. Anne is very sweet, but serious, and I wonder if that's why some people feel she was unkind in their reviews. She takes her craft seriously and wants her work to be it's best - that is something I can appreciate!Service: Alterations

Wasn’t ready when I arrived on date given and a rip off $$$.I was told to come in 2 weeks after I dropped off(more than the 10 days promised on website). Came in at day/time she gave me and she had not even started my alterations for my wedding dress. She didn’t even bother to call me to let me know so I didn’t waste my time driving 30 minutes each way to come in.Then when I came back 3 days later to get it. It was done and she charged me $200.00 for a “cut” and shoulder take in. She did not even hem and sew the bottom just cut it, didn’t even remove the fabric at the shoulders just pinched it under and sewed it with the bunched up fabric still underneath. For $200.00 that’s insane. When I lived in NJ I had dresses taken in a full size for $80.00.I just cannot believe the cost for the little amount of work and the fact she did not get the work done when she promised it to be done. She is a sweet lady but this was just unacceptable for a “quick easy job” that I was told it would be(and that is was).
