Love is not a strong enough word when it comes to McCarthy's. This bar is my favorite place in Bethlehem and I make it a point to visit whenever I'm in town.

I enjoyed the food I got and will eat here again! I wanted to try one of the dessert drinks/ desserts but was too full. I will definitely be coming back to try one or both.

My wife and I stopped in. I forgot about there recent fire but they had our favorites. Fish and chips and bangers and mash. Both entrees were delicious and the whiskey was wonderful as well. They are definitely doing their best under the circumstances and food is still delicious.

As someone who has eaten here for years, and have previously left a 5 start review, my husband and I were quite disappointed. This is always our go to for a special night out which doesn't happen too often. Since our last visit, the menu has changed entirely. The new one page menu is extremely hard to read and feels very jumbled. My go to was always the Galtee, a refreshing salad with great protein and a terrific black currant dressing. I was very disappointed to see it no longer on the menu, and the fact they only have one single salad option now was surprising. Also no more Tots/tot of the day which we always looked forward to as our appetizer. I was sad, and decided to venture and try something new since we already were there and had our drinks. I settled with the red stag cheese steak. A great concept but I felt it lacking in flavor and was very bland. My husband's go to is always fish and chips, and while the price has been raised; I get it everything is pricier, the portion was really lacking and we both left hungry. Not sure what's happened here, but I don't think will be out go to spot anymore.

It was our first time ...my husband and I ordered the fish&chips we thought ok 22.00 that should be a good amount of food ..nope 1 piece of fish 22.00 come on..and a handful of fries ,that were cold and tasted old ..got mashed and gravy as a side the gravy was nasty I called her over and said can you please take this back I don't care for it . Got our bill and there was a charge of $4.00 for gravy that I taste tested and returned...but I didn't saying anything because my husband said don't worry about it.. then after paying 74.00 and telling her to keep the change from a 100.00 she didn't even say thank you .so I said You're welcome and walked out..our son enjoyed his sandwich so there's that .we went home and ended up getting Chinese since our 1 piece of fish didn't satisfy our hunger .Never again

We stopped here after visiting the steel plant, this is just one of many restaurants in downtown Bethlehem. We sat outside (it was a beautiful day). Service was prompt and attentive (I wish I remember our server's name, they were very nice). We shared a meal, which was plenty of food for a mid afternoon snack. Beer (Smithwick's and Guinness Stout were delicious). Would go back. There is a public parking lot nearby that only charges like $1 per hour.

There are a lot of fake Irish pubs around but this is not one of them. They serve several authentic Irish dishes and pour a good pint. Great food here. Stop in for a scoop or two and a bite to eat. There's also good outside seating and they are very dog friendly.

Did not care for the food at all and the service was not good at all. Our server was nice and I don't necessarily think it was her fault but we waited entirely too long for our check. I would stay away and go to the Tavern around the corner the Sun Inn. I had the burger and fries and my wife had the Lamb stew which had 2 small pieces of lamb and tasted like it was a day or 2 old. If this business would like to communicate with reviewers they should provide an email and not threw the reviews.
