Other than Washington DC. This is the only place I can visit and feel totally at 1. So many people sacrifice so much. The spouses of the heroes are able to be buried here as well. The brightness of the headstones reminds you of the heavenly trip most of these people have taken. There is some sadness, and I've seen people crying. Remember, sharing a person's memories that you have of them helps another person have a Fuller understanding of the person they have lost.

One of the most moving experiences at a cemetery, second only to my parents. My father was a 3 tour Vietnam War Vet, & we were privileged enough to receive a military service, so I sort of knew what would be expected. However, a day after an uncle's ceremony, I still have goosebumps.I made sure to thank each and every Veteran that participated in the ceremony yesterday, but I don't think there are words to properly express my feelings and thoughts. If anyone that participated in the ceremonies ever sees this, please know you're always in our thoughts, always grateful

As one would hope for a national cemetery, it is very well kept. Beautiful final resting place for us veterans.

I can’t even express the wonderful service that you provided to my father who was a Major in the Air Force! Thank you so much. I will be back from time to time to visit him here.

This cemetery seems like a really nice place for veterans to spend all eternity when it's time for them to go home to our lord.

My wife and I were trying to use the computer data base at the main building. We were unable to locate a person we know for certain to be there. We left very puzzled.

I am truly blessed that my dad is buried at the national cemetery of the alleghenies. I am brought to tears each time I travel home from work on 70 and see our American flag lit up at night honoring all dearly loved Dad's, husbands, brothers, uncles, and sons. Thank you for keeping this cemetery so beautiful.

I was truly saddened to see my husbands name barely readable and the rest of the inscription unreadable on his headstone. I was told that because of a cost savings, the lithichrome ink is no longer added to the shallow engraving of the markers. The engraving is not deep enough to see without the ink . My husband was a combat medic in Vietnam Certainly he deserves to have his name seen just like all of the other veterans especially to his future generations. This is disrespectful to him and all the other veterans who now have unreadable headstones not to mention a heartache to their families. We need to right this wrong!

A moving memorial that will have you feel deeply indebted to those who served. Very well kept, as it should be.

I visit weekly and I'm always impressed with how beautiful the grounds are kept. I have talked to many of the employees and they are always friendly and willing to help or answer questions.
