Ethical Considerations:
While legally permissible, businesses {SLOAN'S AS WELL AS VETERANS}should CLEARLY COMMUNICATE to donors that their donations are NOT FOR ANY CHARITY'D BENEFIT and that the funds EARNED FROM SELLING DONATIONS are being used for THEIR OWN business FOR PROFIT, GOING IN THE OWNERS POCKETS FOR THEIR OWN purposes! Don't believe me? Ask them to show you their IRS FORM 990 AND FORM 1023 These Forms should be available for PUBLIC VIEW FOR INSPECTION OR COPYING for anyone that request them ( If they are a NON PROGIT AND THEY ARE NOT!) The Bottom line is...SLOANS NOR VETERANS THRIFTS ARE NON PROFITS and your donations go in the owners pockets and they may at THEIR DESCRETION ON HOW MUCH THEY DECIDE TO give which is ONLY a PORTION of THEIR PROFITS FROM YOUR DONATIONS that you, were more than likely, under the impression it went 100 % TOWARD VETERANS.! SAD BUT TRUE ASK THEM.

Prices written on every item. Half the DVDs were missing or destroyed. Prices were hit or miss. Customer service is also hit or miss. Obviously fake Pokémon cards for sale.

Just bought a dresser from there. It is definitely an older style, but it is in great condition and for a great price! The ladies were so nice too :)

Great thrift shop. Local mom and pops. Great prices(even for today’s economy), super friendly staff. They’ve been here for a long time and are a staple amongst Bristol Burrough.

Deciding to stop at Sloan's Thrift after a short visit about a year ago, we were surprised to see this store mostly empty. They are closing at the end of April, 2024 and moving across the street according to a post on their Facebook page. There are still a few pieces of furniture deeply discounted (bookshelves for $25.00), a couple racks of clothes and some kitchen items, hangers, toys still for sale but beware... the offerings are exceptionally few. The shop is nearly empty, and the staff seem preoccupied enough to even notice you are there. From Sloan's Thrift Facebook page: Exciting News! Sloans thrift will be closing its doors and relocating across the street to its new location next to the new Planet Fitness (old rite aid location or for better clarity, near Ollie's. This move is already in process. Even thought the idea saddens us, we are looking forward to a bigger location. The plan is to close up last week in April and reopen May1st. More updates will come as things progress but just remember now Bristol will have 2 great thrifts stores in one great location!
