Love this shop! I moved from Philly to Bryn Mawr and was excited to have a trendy thrift store with parking 3 minutes from my house! The music and atmosphere are great and I find it relaxing to browse around every few weeks and see what’s new. It’s clean, the staff are very friendly and the items span basic $3 bin stuff to higher-end name brand…all priced very fairly.I found a dress for my bridal shower, practically brand new high top Vans sneakers, cozy sweaters for winter, dress pants and a top for a holiday party. I love the benefits of buying used for the environment, the thrill of the hunt, and getting a lot for a little. Hope this place sticks around for years to come! I’m a loyal customer and I tell everybody to check it out! Thanks Renaissance!

The selection and value of items are very nice. Some brands' name articles were a little overpriced. Overall, it is a good place to visit.

Great selection, staff very friendly. I’ve shopped here for years, even before it became the name that it has now, as a entrepreneur myself it felt good to see staff doing their jobs to the best of their ability. I’m not sure who the owner is but I’d love to meet with him /her one day. Your doing a great job !

This place is IT. A total gem of a thrift store. Excellent quality selection, intentional layout, perfect combo of well-selected vintage and new items in lots of size options. Everything from really cute jewelry to hats and gloves to boots and evening gowns and all the every day wear in between. Men's and women's selections but majoritively women's items from what I observed. Fitting rooms are comfortable and clean. They know the value of the items they have but the prices are more than fair. But here's the *best* part of my first experience here:I found the most amazing suede-like Anthropologie coat. In my excitement to discover it, I hadn't noticed it was missing a strap around one of the sleeves. <3!Nicole!<3 was honest with me and pointed it out and made sure to knock a few bucks off the price but she'd let me know if it turned up. I forgot to leave her my number but had mentioned in chatting with her that I worked at a store we both like nearby. YOU GUYS... SHE FOUND THE STRAP and dropped it off IN PERSON at the front desk of my job with a hand written note!!!! I am blown away and so grateful!!!Will absolutely be back here with the CREW asap. Thank you Ren Consignment and NICOLE YOU GODDESS!!! <33333

Used to consign here a lot before it was renamed Renaissance and consigned a little when it became Renaissance. I have nice, designer clothing that I would love to consign but they changed their policy so that they won’t return any items that get “rejected”. This discourages people from consigning. I have nice things and I don’t want them to be donated or sold in a clearance bin by the store. I would like them back to sell elsewhere, or donate to whomever I choose. I don’t think this policy is good for business as it discourages people with nice pieces from bringing them in.

I went to this shop over a month ago for the first time. I found a pairs of boots which I liked and bought. I felt a little funny about buying second hand boots but they were very comfortable and stylish. I will be back and bring a friend with me who said she really liked my boots and she has never been to your shop. Sincerely Kim. ( a happy new customer)

I am a relatively long-standing consignment 'vendor' for Renaissance; in fact, I was an 'adoptee' from the previous store in the same location.I have had a positive relationship with Renaissance; although the timeline for payment is somewhat inconsistent , the detailed spreadsheet provided has allowed me to understand what sells [ I am happy to relate that approximately 90% of what I submit for consignment sells, and this has been a number I have maintained throughout my relationship with Renaissance ] .There was one mysterious disappearance of a sport coat several years ago, but this is understandable in light of the volume of items Renaissance must process.Of course, Covid protocols created an need for submission changes , such as an appointment necessary to submit items for consignment, as well as ways and means to present the items. My latest visit to the store was twofold; I had moved , and needed to provide my updated vendor address. I also wanted to alert them that if a check had been issued for my latest consignment items, it might need to be cancelled , as I was fairly certain it was mailed to my last address. The sales person dutifully changed my address in the computer system, only to have the owner approach and loudly admonish her for changing the address ! I was witness to a confusing dressing down of this employee for correctly updating my address [ the owner communicated a vague challenge it created if a check had already been issued ...it made no sense: if a vendor address has changed , it needs to immediately be updated ] .I had brought with me in my car items I wished to submit [ Renaissance is far from where I live, and by chance had an appointment in the area, so I took a chance they might waive the need for an appointment ] . Of course, the owner was clearly in no mood to allow for anything- she informed me the earliest appointment was two weeks away .My notion , if I ever had any, of being a 'good' vendor, i.e. a vendor that provided , consistently, over years, items that sold, and that loyal vendors might, especially if as mentioned, the items sold well, might be given a break in terms of appointment adherence, went out the proverbial window.I left chastened, and feeling bad for the employee that was oddly reprimanded for updating vital information. There are standards, and there are rules- standards, such as good customer service, are not to be wavered from. But rules can allow for exceptions, especially in the name of customer service .I am one, single vendor. I amount to a hill of beans. Renaissance has not been in business for the length they have without clearly doing something right. Success in retail is a very challenging thing. As slight an impact as it no doubt is to their customer base, they will no longer have my items on their hangers and shelves.La de da.Long live meaningful professional relationships, and caring retailers who nurture and cultivate those relationships.post note: the owner kindly posted a response- it is important for all who read reviews to form their own judgement, based on their own experiences- this is one day, one person's experience out of the 19 thousand consignees [ as pointed out by the owner ] ...I correctly suggested I don't amount to a hill of beans ...For me, my post was singularly about being witness to a public dressing down of an employee by a manager; not at all gentle- and that everything , even the response, was about Renaissance, and, not even once, acknowledging my experience

It's funny to read reviews of a rude staff. I've been to the store a couple of times and I never have experienced anyone being rude. I have purchased every time I've gone in this store, I can't remember if they spoke or not but I'm a speaker and I'm chatty so that might be the difference but I've never felt like they were being rude. Oh well just my experience. I just wish they were open on Sundays because it's hard for me to get there before they close.

I’m disturbed by their terms and conditions around consigning and would rather go anywhere else. It basically states if I bring my $4,000 suit to them in its garment bag, instead of a KITCHEN TRASHBAG, they will KEEP IT rather than return it. Sheesh that’s a rough gamble to do with high-end items I own. Their site states don’t you dare try bringing an item on the hanger as it will absolutely not be returned to you. Imagine bringing a $4,000 item here with the intent of consigning and it essentially being stolen by the owners without the opportunity of receiving your item back. Don’t get me started on the shocking response to other patron who’ve left reviews that could potentially be productive in improving ones shop. By me bringing this up, it’s fair to assume they will literally tell me “go shop somewhere else then. we don’t care. why would we want a costumer who isn’t a hard worker.” (as this is literally what they told another visitor.) Why would you randomly assume someone isn’t a hard worker solely because they left you a poor review- do you respond that way to all of your negative reviews- or just those left by persons of color? Disgraceful to make the assumption that a costumer must not be a hardworking person because they visited your shop and experienced poor costumer service..? ..that is the single most disturbing response i’ve ever seen from an owner. the statement “i don’t want you as a costumer then” even though they obviously wanted to be your costumer..screams being under-appreciative of patrons who visit your establishment. this exact thing is directly associated with poor customer service in general. so, that is a problem. not to mention how there are micro aggressions in statements like that, and i guess they will tell you to never come back if you don’t like the micro aggressions and attitude they admit to keep in their environment. (that’s literally what they told someone else.) knowing how they approach their potential costumers, i would never consider giving them my time, and i encourage you to consider their view and their approach to speaking to previous and potential visitors of their store before you support an establishment such as this one. to my fellow hard workers and/or mothers alike, don’t waste your precious time visiting an establishment that has made it clear they have zero interest in respecting or appreciating certain “types” of costumers.... oh, ya know, the “types” of customers who american society happens to carry stereotypes of them being “lazy” or “not hardworkers.” i’m absolutely turned off and will tell anyone in the area not to visit.
