Hatfield Ice Arena is a favorite rink with three sheets of ice, two in the main building and one in a standalone tan building. The ice is good and well maintained. The main building offers plenty of seating, a concession stand, a warm restaurant, and a pretty well stocked store. It is the home rink for Genesis. The standalone rink is on the colder side with limited seating and basic amenities. The facility is very busy for lessons and programs, so signing up well in advance is recommended. Coaches are helpful, and kids in the programs improve their skills. Many enjoy being part of the figure skating scene and team, finding the summer camp extremely fun. Staff is nice. A noted downside is the lack of props for little kids or beginners learning to skate. Parking can be challenging, with the main lot filling up quickly.
Every summer my boys head to the arena. It's become one of our traditions. It's an ideal place for building confidence, staying active, and having a great fun time — plus, it's the perfect escape from the summer heat!
