I had a very disappointing experience here. Two weeks ago I paid $48 (plus $15 tip) for a full set of dip powder nails. When I came back for a refill (which I’ve been getting for years at other salons with no problem), they refused and insisted I had to remove the entire set and pay another $48(plus $15 tip) for a new set. They tried to say it would “look better,” but that’s just not true. (He/Bac gave me 6 different bogus excuses in one breath) Dip powder nails don’t need to be taken off after only 2 weeks. It feels like they were pushing me to spend more money, especially on gel which are $65 and that I don’t want. I went to another salon right after, and they had no issue doing a normal refill and even matched my color perfectly. This place seems more interested in upselling than in treating customers fairly. I won’t be coming back. I don't like being lied to or scammed.

We always have a good experience here. We’ve been visiting the salon for probably 20 years. They are well operated and the ambience is lovely. The prices seem super reasonable, and the options are endless.

This place just went downhill. They used to be good. The prices always change. You can get the same thing and the next time you come back it’s a different price. No customer service at all. Everyone is rude and they will talk about you. I wanted dip today, but was told my nails were too short. So ended up with gel. Makes no difference. If you want a certain nail tech, they lie saying they are booked when all she took was walk ins and wouldn’t even look at me. Also the nail tech I had acted like she hated her job. Huff and puff and roll her eyes.

Very disappointed, this place was good last year, don’t know what changed, management or new owners. Gel manicure started chipping a couple days later and my cuticles were very dry. No customer service, not friendly or welcoming. Will never go there again and will tell others not to also

The worst nail salon in all of DOWNINGTOWN let alone Chester county. They don’t have enough workers, wait is long and even if you schedule an appt they STILL don’t take you on time. Don’t waste your time or money at this place. I left and went to the boutique in the mall and had no wait, got a good pedi. This place is a waste of space.

Terrible service and overpriced.
I’ve had multiple bad experiences here. I always show a picture of what I want before they start, but they still end up doing something completely different in both shape and color. When I ask them to fix it, they either get upset or pretend not to understand English. The customer service is awful, and for the high prices they charge, it’s just not worth it. I’m never coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Went and got my feet my done. They had an attitude with me because I wanted to get regular French tips NO GEL ! when I said no gel she rolled her eyes. Then the person doing my feet didn’t really scrub my feet or nothing she literally put them in hot water and then took them out!!! If you want to get treated with respect don’t come here cause you’ll receive nothing but attitude!

My mom and I love J and L! We've been coming for almost a decade, starting when I was around 7, and still as I'm in college now! Their prices are incredibly reasonable, we're always seen on time for our appointments, and they're incredibly efficient. We've started to come more regularly in the last few years and we love it more than ever. If I'm ever home for a weekend from college, I always make sure to stop in for nails that will last me until the next time I can come home!

I have been a customer for years at J&L and the customer service aspect of the business is declining. The purpose of making an appointment is to be seen for your appointment time. Every time I come in, I'm waiting to be sat at a station. Sometimes 30-40 min. What is the point of making an appointment if you're waiting past the scheduled time. As a customer, it's upsetting while you're at the appointment, and you don't like how the finished result is coming out or if your nail is crooked and you asked for it to be fixed, that's an issue too. When I come in for a service, that's all I'm asking for excellent customer service because the prices change depending on what technician I see as well. That doesn't sit well or make any sense to me.

Had an appointment on Tuesday and by Thursday all of my nails were chipping. I asked for dip two different times and received a gel manicure. I called on Friday and I was told I could come in at anytime to get my nails fixed and dip like I asked for. I spoke with Vicky on the phone and when I came in and she was very rude and unprofessional. I will not be returning.

Vicky is very rude and unprofessional! I had went in out Tuesday with an appointment for dip ( they gave me gel ), and by Thursday 3 of my nail were chipped. When i called she said i could come in and get them fixed so i came in then she’s telling my it’s going to be a wait and i would have to pay for my nails to get fixed when i literally just got them done 2 days prior!

I have been here twice for two different services. Both times I had excellent service for both manicures and pedicures. Staff have been nice and cordial, and the prices seem reasonable compared to others salons I've tried in the area.
