Today I went for my quarterly blood work. I had an appointment set (idk why people make such a fuss about waiting ages for walk in, that’s how it’s always been! Make an appointment to avoid). I was seen in less than 5 minutes after checking in. There was a young man at the front desk, and a female phlebotomist in the back. Unfortunately I forgot her name, but she said she had been there only 3 weeks. When I say this was the BEST experience I have had at Labcorp, I mean it. And it was solely because of her. She was so kind, funny, and made it PAINLESS which has never happened to me. Both of my arms are fully tattooed and instead of making me feel bad for tattoos covering my veins (which most phlebotomists do), she complimented my work and quickly got my vein. Truly wish I could have her everytime I went. 10/10 experience!

Criminally understaffed. Walk-ins are impossible here, and there was a person there with a 10am appointment still waiting to be seen at 1130am. What a joke of a company.... I'm only stuck here because of my health insurance. Takes months to get an appointment, so my insurance approval will expire before then, but literally I've been here for hours and they are only taking people with appointments. You can't walk in, you can't get an appointment. Honestly I'm going to complain to my insurance company, or just switch healthcare plans, because this is insanity. Currently one employee and a line out the door at the office. Insane songs play over and over on a loop in the 90 degree waiting room. Truly the worst experience I have ever had with a medical company.

Super long wait. So many people just sitting, with and without appointments. Terrible location.

Worst. After visiting location, understand why there are so many bad reviews. Positive: there was no wait, even as a walking. The front desk attendant was nice. Negative: lab tech was gross. Had on dirty over coat, smelled, dirty sleeves (looked like it was used several times to wipe nose), and was digging in his butt while printing labels. 🤢 The blood work didn’t go well. Ended up with ruptured blood vessel the resulted in swelling as large as a golf ball. I would never go back. Be warned!

Showed up to drop off a sample. Already had my doctors paperwork requesting the testing. Just needed to drop it off. I walked in to a line of 15 people (website said they take walk ins). I was rudely turned away before I could even say a word. Man at the desk just said, “You need an appointment. Come back Monday” and walked away.
Wasted sample. Wasted sample cup. Waste of time. Awful experience.

Waited over an hour and was never served. On the flip side, quest got me in and out in 5 minutes. Also I think my previous review got deleted.

“Go to Hopewell rd tomorrow before 11 and you can just walk in.”
Tomorrow: “We don’t do walk ins.”
You need to pay the employees more and teach them customer service.

Website says open till 5pm. Go there and some paper sign posted out front says closes at 2:30pm. Update the website! Then again, looking at these reviews…I’m not surprised.

2 and a half hour wait then I walked. This isn’t the first time. One guy drawing blood and signing people up. It’s about time to get two people drawing blood and one signing up people. Well I am going to consider another place to go.

I’m not one to leave a bad review but my experience at Labcorp in Downingtown (Hopewell Rd) was AWFUL! When I arrived as a walk in I was very surprised to be taken back so quickly. The woman who did my check in was very nice. She then took me back to the blood draw room and we were having a wonderful conversation. All was going well… until it didn’t. She applied the tourniquet to my arm and pushed a little. Said she felt nothing. Tried the other arm & same thing. She said “you’re going to be a hard stick - I can already tell. I’m going to get Nick because he’s better at this than me”. She didn’t even try to use heat or anything or try other spots on my arm. Just gave up. I thought to myself “ok, I’d rather her walk away if she didn’t trust herself to do it than make a mistake”. So her colleague came in and things went from bad to worse! He started on the right arm. Got one tube (and he continued to move the needle in and out and I could see a visible lump forming. The blood stopped flowing after only one tube and he told me he needed to find another spot. He then moved to the left and stuck me once - didn’t work but kept moving the needle around. Then put it in my hand and got the rest as I was like hey I’m not feeling so hot. He’s like “are you hydrated”. To which I responded “yes”. Try not to move we’re almost done. I asked if I could release my fist because I felt like I was going to vomit and pass out and my hand was literally shaking. He told me no and again said to stay still because he was almost done. When he finished he taped me up and sent me away. I get to my car and I’m bleeding OUT of the bandage! So I go back in and they’re like “omg” and took me back. The woman applied a “pressure bandage” and ensured I clotted. I still felt sick to my stomach. I then show her the lump on the right arm and she’s like just ice it when you get home, it’s normal. This confused me because it is on the list of “what to look for” after a blood draw and she’s telling me it’s “normal”. I left and immediately called the doctor and they said it CAN be normal to have some inflammation and bruising but it’s not normal for it to keep swelling or not go down. Told me to use heat to try to decrease the swelling and if it’s not going down call them ASAP!
This was an awful experience and honestly the most unprofessional and seemingly least trained staff I have ever come across. I even told them when they went to draw that my veins are there but deep and they usually have luck “here” (pointed) but they sometimes need to apply heat to get them to pop up. Didn’t listen to a single thing I said. For the woman to not even try and then tell me she was getting someone who was better than her since she could already tell I was a hard stick WITHOUT EVEN TRYING and then for the “better” one to do what he did. I will NEVER use labcorp again! I am outraged. Luckily the swelling went down but I have HUGE bruises at each draw spot (even the ones that they didn’t have success getting blood from). I wasn’t surprised they needed my hand (they sometimes do) but they tried nothing my normal place does to get my veins to show up. It was awful. On top of that, when someone tells you they don’t feel well you don’t say “stay still I’m almost done”!
Do not EVER use labcorp at this location!
