I've been with ESSA for over 20 years. Had 9 accounts with them as of a couple years ago. Then I was attempting to perform a transaction and the manager didn't allow it. She used the term "manager's discretion." I found that quite strange since I had performed that specific transaction in the past with no problems. I left the branch, went to the next closest branch, and the transaction was processed successfully with no questions asked. I don't like it when individuals or businesses go out of their way to create a hassle for someone when there is no need to. I'm now down to 1 account with ESSA. Unfortunately their detriments are what I think of when I need to bank in person.

I have always had positive experiences with this branch. The staff is very helpful and attentive. I feel they are very professional. The bank is well maintained and they are very aware of their customers' needs. Unfortunately, COVID restrictions have affected the ability to be fully open to the public and only drive through is available. Hopefully this will change soon.

It is extremely frustrating dealing with a bank that is not keeping up with technology. Constant issues with getting locked out of online banking and no real help except during business hours. Need to deposit a check with your cell phone? You better endorse it with ESSA’s special endorsement otherwise it will just sit in limbo with no notification that it is not being deposited. I am sorry I ever got involved with this bank! I will be transferring my home equity loan elsewhere ASAP!

Everyone at this bank is friendly helpful and smiling and the manager is incredible, sweet, knowledgeable, and always helpful.

I've been with this company for years and I've never had a problem until recently when they asked me for my ID, which is fine but then they copied my personal information and posted it on the slip, which they have never done before and which i find unnecessary and invasive. I take my privacy seriously since my personal information was stolen at a doctor's office in the past. When i expressed my dismay to a manager who knew me, she dismissed my concerns and walked away. You would think that since this manager knew me, that she would inform the teller that it wasn't necessary to copy my personal information but that wasn't the case. Poor customer service. This has actually given me thoughts of removing my accounts from this bank.

Friendly service, great bank manager! All you could ask from a community bank. Had my accounts with ESSA since 1992.
